Feeling the fear is something natural, something we all have in common.
There are the things we fear more and things we fear less. Fear is in many cases helpful and should protect us, and being afraid of e.g. fire can save your life. But what about fear of public speaking in foreign language?
English is a foreign language for your teachers too and all of us once were afraid of speaking English in public and there are times we still are. With a hand on our hearts we can honestly say that we know what you feel. This whole project came into life for you to become better speakers and to overcome this fear, too.
You may see your teachers or schoolmates who can do it BUT: “Don’t compare yourself to the others!”
You may fear that they will judge you BUT your progress is only in your hands, they won’t do it for you. You are not doing it to strive for perfection in thoughts of others or in your own thoughts. You should strive for your own progress instead. Others will always think what they want to, and what is more, you cannot be a slave to that fear. They will turn away and shortly forget what mistakes you have made because they know that it happens, and you know that too.
I failed = I learnt - with this attitude you can progress and make a headway and you will never regret that you have tried: “Every Accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right.” Choose wisely the truth about you.
Everything is easy to say, but difficult to put into practice, but let’s try together :)
Take this project as an opportunity to experience.
Below there is a presentation, feel free to check it out and answer the questions in the presentation in the comfort of your home. We believe that your answers may help you to overcome the fear at least a bit or dare you to try to speak in English publicly.
