17.-PHYTOCOSMETICS IN OUR ECOGARDEN

  • IES MACARENA (SEVILLE) SPAIN

It has recently been scientifically proven that in order to reduce carbon emissions and thus have an impact on less pollution that directly influences climate change, it is necessary to increase the vegetable-rich diet. For this reason we continue to invest in our eco-garden and have planted many aromatic plants that will help us to produce ecological phytocosmetic creams. Avoiding the continued commercialization of a cosmetic that uses krill, which is the main food for many whales and marine species.

Our pumpkin seeds are starting to grow, we remember that it is essential to opt for organic vegetable farming to avoid global warming and therefore pollution by chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the water.

From these calendula plants we have mixed their essential oil with aloe vera to obtain a moisturising cream, good for burns and superficial wounds.

And this is our ecogarden in spring, from whose aromatic plants we are going to make the creams of ecological and natural phytotherapy.

Our work in class and in the eco-garden making natural ecological phytocosmetics creams, another way of raising awareness about the sustainability of the oceans and the species that inhabit them.

ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGN IES MACARENA (SEVILLE) SPAIN

We continue to reforest and care for our environment to contribute to environmental sustainability and tackle climate change. We have planted a lemon tree and a pomegranate tree. This is the only way to stop pollution and safeguard the life of the oceans and the species that inhabit them.

    GR HERAKLION CRETE

People turn to the garden for a variety of reasons; filling open areas in the yard, improving the curbside appeal, fulfilling a personal desire to create, and even partaking for the many health benefits it provides are all great reasons to garden. But what many people are unaware of is how amazing these activities are for the environment.

Gardening impacts everything from the air we breathe to the minimizing of carbon footprints we leave behind. If you have an area to plant in, even if it’s simply containers on a terrace, take advantage of this space and become part of a healthy environmental impact. Our students show you the way!

Students also produced their own cosmetics from natural herbs, bee wax and olive oil!

    IES VEGA DE ATARFE (SPAIN)

Our ecogarden is starting, too. The teacher in charge of the ecology project at schools and other students come to help. It's plenty of work to do!!

With our chemistry teacher we test the soil PH

We are creating a vertical garden using recycled materials and seeds of aromatic plants.

We are five groups, our five oceans and each one have a diferent seed.

The students search for information on Internet about their plant (Where is living, what care they are needing, medicinal uses or other interesting uses)

After that, they make two labels, one collects a summary of the information found and the other one have the basic information of the woman who represent their oceans.

The students are going to send one photo per week, trying to make it in the same position, time and place.

After nine weeks they'll make a collage with the photos and we'll show it to the rests of students.

If all goes ok, we'll plant it in the eco garden of the center.

Our English teacher shows the lavender plant we will use later on
