Portugal November 14th-November 20th 2021

  • On the first day, we all walked from the hotel to the school. We were greeted by the headmaster who introduced the school.

Then we went for a walk to ESPOSENDE and enjoyed a bowling game as an ice-breaking activity. This was such a good start !

On Tuesday, November 16th, we visited CIIMAR. We learned a lot about how the marine environment is preserved and also about the dangers of microplastics. Did you know how much plastic you can find in a mussel's stomach ? It is just terrifying !

Then, we enjoyed a cruise on the Douro river (we felt a bit like Rose and Jack...) and appreciated the visit of Porto Wine Cellars.

On Wednesday, we were welcomed at "Enercon Portugal, Energy for the World". We visited a wind generator factory, realised how big blades can be and how renewable energies as the wind can be used to preserve our environment.

Then, we visited Viana do Castelo, a beautiful Portuguese village with typical streets, shops and buildings.

We had such a great day!

On Thursday, the Erasmus group was invited at the Barcelos City Hall. The education deputy delivered a warm speech and gave each delegation some presents from Barcelos : the famous rooster!

Then, we went back to school and presented our work on scientists and innovations in Europe. We pointed out that Europe is a huge actor in environment and sustainable practises. We are so proud to be European !

On Friday, we were amazed to discover IPCA. This is the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave. We had a conference about how to create characters in video games. We also experimented virtual worlds and saw different applications that can be made in medicine, environment preservation and industry. It was amazing !

At night, we had the farewell party. We are aware of how lucky we were to spend this week together, but also very sad it came to an end. We are looking forward to joining the next mobility in Poland !!!
