For our little school it is really be a great opportunity to participate in the Erasmus project; live isolated in a territory historically depressed and disadvantaged creates in our students an inferiority complex that could condition their lives in the future. Through the project our students will approach our traditions, our customs and our sense of hospitality; they will be able to find a lot of positiveness in their own reality but, mainly, they will understand how much diversity is an added value, and how special is the simplicity of everyday life in an economically disadvantaged territory but with so much culture and humanity.
After this experience, our schools will be able to remove cultural barriers between peoples. The teachers and students involved will be able to travel to other countries and to other parts of Europe; different environments, with different customs and traditions, with different mentalities, with significant economic disparities.
Teachers, through the exchange of information, will confront and learn new methodologies and different teaching strategies. living in a small country like Satriano di Lucania where speaking English is not a priority, an Erasmus plus project will attract the attention of members of the local and regional community, through the publication of articles in newspapers and the transmission of interviews in regional news.
At the local level, the project allow to explain to students, parents and communities, the cultural development opportunities offered by the European Union. Particularly, the training offer by "Erasmus +" for improving the language level, the european culture, of students and educationnal staff. The project will improve the transition between the different education systems of each partner.
