  • MEETING AT SCHOOL

    INTRODUCTION

The theme of the project is "Fiers d’être Européens", "European pride".  The activities in this first exchange focus on European values and the development of European identity. Pupils are learning about European Union's fundamental values: respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law. They are learning and  that these values unite all the member  states and if a country  does not recognise these values, cannot belong to the Union European. Students  exploring their national identity, they become aware of different nations that build the European community  and they develop the sense of belonging to the European community as a whole. They learn to appreciate  the diversity of life in the Europe. They understand and respect the fact that life in Europe is culturally  diverse and that different people bring different values to the European community thus making it stronger. They learn about commitments and come up with ideas on how they and their country can contribute to making the European community a better place to live for all the Europeans. They explore what and how each member country can contribute to a common European identity.
