"IES Ribera del Fardes", Spain

  • AN INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY: what's Erasmus Plus to you? 😊It's very important and useful to familiarize our new students with the concept, the philosophy and the aims of the Erasmus Plus projects. For that reason, they have designed two Padlets (both in Spanish and English) with their words and pics about "What's Erasmus Plus to them".I let you the links to both Padlets:

OPENING OF THE NEW ERASMUS PLUS CORNER AT RIBERA DEL FARDES. SCHOOL YEAR 2020-21

At last! The new Erasmus PLus corner has born, thanks to the help of our students. Most of them join this club for the first time. However, they feel very enthusiastic to participate in our projects and know all of you in the next future. Surely we'll meet very soon, let's keep our expectations! Here I upload some pics of them. Here we are!😊

THE ERASMUS PLUS CORNER IN RIBERA DEL FARDES

The Erasmus Pus corner in our schooll has been very active since its birth. We consider that designing this space enables the students to assimilate this project as their own and improves the sense of belinging and participating in a community, THE ERASMUS PLUS COMMUNITY.

First of all, we will show you the Erasmus Plus corner. There we have been hanging the students' works and posters; the documents and announcements concerning the project itself and the mobilitites, such as the criteria to select the students to participate in a mobility, or the final candidates!

After that, we will provide you all the picture, videos and documents so that you will confirm how serious this project is for us! (and how many fun moments we get from it, too):

    WHAT ACTIVIDADES HAVE WE DONE?

PREPARATION OF THE 1st MOBILITY IN SPAIN (4th-8th NOVEMBER)

The beginning of the school year is frenetic everywhere. There are so many things to say, read and write that 24 hour a day isn't enough to cope with these first weeks. This imagen must come to your mind...

However, the team of teachers and students met to give life to this project and to organise the preparation of the moility by:

    -Teachers and students' weekly meetings

-Development and fullfilment of the teachers' and students' weekly or fortnight-long tasks' concerning:

-Design of the Erasmus Plus corner

-Design of those project logos on behalf of the Spanish team.

          -Celebration of a logo contest

-Design of different presentations to be shown on the Spanish mobility: our country,

Granada and Purullena, the cave houses in Purullena, our school, etc.

-Design of a Kahoot activity dealing with "Spanish traditions and routines"

-Design of a gymkhana activity called "local initiatives in Purullena".

-Creation of a Faceboook page: "local initiatives of the European village"

-Showing and promoting our project in social network sites (Facebook), the school

website, the local newspaper and eTwinning itself.

          -Selection of the hosting families.

-Celebration of monthly meetings with the hosting families

                                              ------------------------

    IN BETWEEN MOBILITY TASKS

The Spanish mobility came to and (you have the opportunity to have a look at it by clicking on "mobilities".

Very sadly, we came back to normal life. However, we kept on working with the following tasks:

NEWSLETTER 1: PADLET "MY IMPRESSIONS OF THE SPANISH MOBILITY"

The following weekd the students built a padlet with their impressions of the Spanish mobility. It was a very funny and creative activity!

1st SOLIDARY CROSS "INES SRUGGLING AGAINST LEUKEMIA"

Last 5th of December ACCI secondary school, located in Guadix, held a very especial sporting event so as to raise some money to help Ines, a student attending this school, to face Leukemia.

Our school was invited to participate on this solidary local initiative. Here I show you some pictues of the successful race:

It was a very emotive local initiative. We deeply hope that the numer of this kind of activities increase considerably in schools, as there is nothing as moving as contributing to someone's comfort.

WORKING ON A LOCAL INITIATIVE IN GUADIX:

    THE SOCIAL CHARITY CARITAS

One of the activities we developed in the Spanish mobility was to visit the social charity Caritas, whose headquarter is located in Guadix. There, we realised the varied help it provides to those needing some help.

For that reason, we decided to know some more about its daily work on the following fields: the unemployed, the role of women, the homeless, the evicted, the youth, the family, the disabled, etc.

The students divided into groups of two, three or four students. Them, each group would choose a field to work on for some works so as to design a poster to be shown to the rest of students. Finally, we would record them while they were present their posters:

Finally, as I can't bring the video to this page, I will show you its main main image as well as its link to visit it:

A SCHOOL-LOCAL INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE OUR SCHOOL: A LEAFLET

The teaching staff, together with the education community, cares for the students' comfort in our school. We work very hard to improve the quality of teaching and the aspect of daily coexistance or fellowship.

Every year our future students, accompanied by their primary school teachers and parensts, visit the school and as in a few months they will attend it daily. It's in this moment when we would like to show the best of us (our teaching and learning methodology, after school activities, etc). That's why we provide them this useful information by designing a "school leaflet".

Besides, last year the headmistress Cecilia devised a plan consisting of visiting the nearby villages whose students would attend our school next year. The aim was to show our school to the families and invite them to visit it as soon as possible. The ideas was a comple success!

PROMOTION OF THE PROJECT WITH THE "ERASMUS PLUS STAND" IN THE SCHOOL

The Erasmus Plus stand included the participation in the contest "What do you know about this project"? The winners won some merchandising objects with the logos of the projects!

PROMOTION OF THE PROJECT IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPARE "IDEAL EN CLASE"

A newspaper article: "The Erasmus Projects in Covid-19 times"

PADLET "WHAT'S ERASMUS PLUS TO YOU?"

At the beginning of the school year the new and old students of the Erasmus Plus club completed this padlet in both languages (Spanish and English) so as to familiarise them with the real and positive connotatios of this program:

    A VISIT TO CADE-GUADIX

Last November the students visited CADE-Guadix, an institution which promotes the starting-up and development of local companies, contributing to the socioeconomic and environmental growth of our area. Our students were really impressed!

This visit was the starting point to do a Power Point presentation so as to be shown in the vFrench virtual mobility.

Here I let you some nice pictures of the visit and the link to the presentation:
