Cultural preparation - Romania

  • The month of January and the first week of February were dedicated to specific activities regarding the partner countries in the Erasmus+ project. The main objective was to learn about the other four countries: Italy, Czech Republic, Greece and Turkey. Some of our teachers prepared the activities, making them  both educational and attractive.

At our first meeting (16.01.2020), we were presented some information about the Turkish religion by Mr. Florea Călin and Mrs. Nistor Simona. We found out many things about their main fasting period, Ramadan, Islam  and the holy book of Islamic religion, The Coran.

During the second meeting (23.01.2020), together with Mrs. Comșa Lucreția and Mrs. Suceava Cristina we discovered interesting things about the Czech Republic: we learned about their castles, their beer, the Bohemian crystals, the Swarovski diamonds and the Bohemian Lion. At the end of the presentation we had a quick test about the information we had learned.

At our last meeting (03.02.2020), Mrs. Simon Erika and Mrs. Szilágyi Tünde prepared for the Erasmus pupils some interesting video clips about Italy and Greece. We found out that in Italy we can find the Vatican,  which is the smallest state in the world. We also learned that the Italian people are very superstitious and that they love cats. In the second video, we learned about Greece. The Greeks  are also superstitious. Another interesting fact is that in Greece there are over 2000 islands, but only 20 are inhabited. The antique culture and civilization of Greece are the foudation of European culture. Great Mathematicians  also come from Greece. The Greek phylosophy and mithology keep inspiring, to this day,  creators and thinkers all over the world. At the end of this meeting we were challenged with a puzzle about Italian and Greek famous monuments.

We will surely remember the information and facts we were presented and I am convinced that everything we found out during these classess will be useful when we visit the wonderful co-partner countries, if we are lucky enough to get the chance. Everything we discovered durind these events, showed us that there are more things bringing us together, rather than keeping us apart. Even if not all of us can go on a mobility, we certainly gained new skills. Consequently, we know how to find commune topics of discussion with the guests, when our high school gets the honor of being their host. And when I go, as a tourist, in any of these countries, the knowledge I gained will surely help me a great deal.
