Kamishibai activity to help young students

  • The Hungarian school is an Art school. So students prepare a kamishibai , a form of storytelling, to help young students to manage fears and feelings about the emergency time.

Most Kamishibai stories consist of 12 to 16 sturdy cards, beautifully illustrated cards. On the back is the text. The way of telling story is unique. A story teller reads text on the back of a card and he/she pulls from the front of the stack and slides it to the stack, so that a new illustration is revealed to audiences and provides the matching story text on the back of the last card to them.

Students from 2nd class from School Elena Doamna created also stories on the topic Fear of virus and present them with Kamishybai. All presentation are into the padlet below.

Croatian students made Kamishibai video story which they create together with story cubes in joint activities with students from Italy.

    DON'T WORRY AUDIO BOOK

Grandma! Come in. I can’t sleep. I’m scared. Tell me a tale, please.

The old lady came into the room and sat down on her bed. Once upon a time, when I was young, strange things happened. A new disease appeared.

The virus called COVID 19. It was like flu. The people didn’t know a cure for it.

Suddenly the school closed down. We learned online from home. I didn’t meet with my friends, we only talked on our phones.

We wore masks. We couldn’t go to the shopping centres. Supermarkets and drogeries were open. We ate a lot of vitamins.

I had a daily routine. I wrote my diary. I drew during that time.

The family was together and this was very good. We played cards and boardgames with my siblings. We spoke about everything.

The doctors worked on a solution. Finally a scientist developed the antidote.

Everybody was happy! Dear, dear? Are you sleeping? She has fallen asleep. Good night!
