The Italian school in Madrid is a State school, run by Ministry of Foreign affairs, that was funded in 1940 in the central " barrio" of Chamberì. There are more than 800 pupils, from 3 to 18 years old. Classes follow the Italian National curriculum; all the lessons are taught in Italian. There is also a part of the curriculum in Spanish so children can also follow the Spanish curriculum.
