The Italian school in Madrid is a State school, run by Ministry of Foreign affairs, that was funded in 1940 in the central " barrio" of Chamberì. There are more than 800 pupils, from 3 to 18 years old. Classes follow the Italian National curriculum; all the lessons are taught in Italian. There is also a part of the curriculum in Spanish so children can also follow the Spanish curriculum.

Mainly pupils are bilingual, speaking both languages fluently. In the video you can taste their switching from one language to another describing their school
