Logo contest in Scuola Italiana in Madrid 1

There were 19 classes participating with 10 classes proposing their logo to vote. 413 pupils, from 6 to 14 years old, voted on a total of 750 in the whole schools. Also classes and teachers not directly involved in the project showed interest and voted. We started discussing with pupils about a logo ( what is it? what can communicate?) and about topics of the project. Children proposed to work in groups as a way to start to practice " soft skills". Some drawings were thought and planned in a class and then realized by older students. Teachers noticed a great interest and motivation: children, even when their drawings were not so good, could explain complex meanings they wanted to express.

Thet worked also at home, but they didn't want their parents help. Teachers observed children able to observe and understand drawings and their meanings: even younger children could " read" complex logo. To vote, we prepare a google presentation and a google sheet, so that in each classroom we could watch the logo on the IWB and register the votes. It was quite exciting and children went on talking about logo contest in the breaks and going home..

LOGO CONTEST IN 3° CIRCOLO BAGHERIA

In our school 12 classes and some parents participated at the logo contest and proposed their own logos. Students from 2nd ,3rd and 4th grade, from 7 to 9 years old drawing together, discuss about the meaning of the project and about what a logo is. We teachers discover that they never reflected about the importance of a logo and brand and also we need to reflect together about the importance of copyright. Some parents attended the school of Art when they were young so we asked to participate to our contest. We had two different section of vote: teachers vote for parents and students for students. Now we are waiting for the next exciting part of the contest: to choose the winner!
