Every 3rd February Montehermoso celebrates its most important festival, which is considered of regional tourist interest: Los Negritos.
The previous night there is a ceremony called "La Velá", consisting of a parade with candles and bonfires where the participants walk around the streets to get to the church where the image of Saint Blas, the patron saint, is kept.
Then, the next morning, there are dances and music performed by a group of men wearing the traditional costume and who have painted their faces black, that is the reason why they are called "los Negritos".
It is a traditional ceremony which definitely made our guests form part of our cultural heritage.
