    Safer Internet Day will be celebrated at schools. Students will start e-safety campaign. It will be a group work. Students will create a whatsapp group for easy and fast communication. They will design esafety posters on Canva and prepare a family day at school with their teachers.They will give information about possible risks of internet and give internet safety tips. Brochures will be distributed. Students will use social media to disseminate their campaign. The aim of this activity is to create awareness about internet safety for school community. The events will be documented and shared in Twinspace to comment, compare and evaluate.

    THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS:

    DON’T DO ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET THAT YOU WOULDN’T DO IN YOUR “REAL LIFE”!

    IC Pascoli Cento, Italy

    On 9 February, students of IC Pascoli Cento, Italy, from kindergarten to lower secondary school, have done different activities on the topics of prevention of bullying and cyberbullyng through role-playing games, circle time, creation of themed posters, reflections on the differences between a joke, a quarrel, an act of bullying and cyber bulling.

    Kindergarten

    Reflection on words and gestures that make us feel bad, and on those that make us feel good; then building a billboard and playing to interpret the “bully behaviors” and the “positive behaviors that make us feel good”! Conversation about the use of tablets, mobile phones, computers. Importance of adult supervision.

    Primary and secondary school

    In the primary and lower secondary school classes, the topics most felt by students were discussed, the behaviors that expose them to greater risks, the new law on cyberbullying, the aware use of smartphones and personal profiles on applications that enable social media and instant messaging apps.

    Furthermore, IC2 organized a videoconference entitled “INTER CONNECTION … BUT WITH OUR HEAD”, for the pupils of the 5 primary classes. The conference has been conducted by Eng. Piero Fontana (National Project Manager and Head of the Information Systems Division Ministry of Defense). The aim: to inform and educate young minors to use the Internet consciously and to make them aware of the risks of the web.

     

    Kelmės “Aukuro” pagrindinė mokykla, Lithuania

     The 3rd and 4th formers from Kelmės “Aukuro” pagrindinė mokykla, Lithuania, had an integrated lesson “Safe internet – I am responsible” with the police officer who explained the dangers that can appear while searching the internet. Also, pupils enjoyed the games and other activities during the meeting.

    CEIP Maestro Juan de Ávila ( SPAIN)

    During the second week of February, students of CEIP Maestro Juan de Ávila have done different activities to learn how to use internet and new technologies.

    Two local police officers explain different ways to learn about security in Internet and they participated in a video-conference with a journalist. They talked and resolved questions about this topic.

    Children made presentations with videos, Canva and played games in their blog.

    AŞAĞI ÇIYANLI Ş. AHMET BİRKAÇ İLKOKULU (TURKEY)

     

    On Tuesday, February 9, 2021 we celebrate the 18th day of Safer Internet Day with the students of Ş. Ahmet Birkaç İlkokulu with an online occasion held by Specialist Dr. Elif Can Sümbül. Students are informed about how to use internet safely and be aware of the correct internet practices. Staying safe on the internet is a vital part of modern technology use, students had the chance to discuss variety of topics from privacy and passwords to cyberbullying and online identity. It was a useful webinar for both the students and parents..

    During the week , the students were assigned for the e-safety campaign poster. They coloured mandala letters to be used for the poster and sent the photos. We used whatsapp for easy and fast communication for the coordination of the task. Because in Turkey, the schools are closed for semester holiday. At the end of the activity, students decided on 9 golden tips for e-safety that we created a poster to be displayed in the classrooms..

    Learning while they are younger is a perfect way to empower children to develop the ability to think critically about how they use the internet, and that is a skill that will last for their whole lives!

    EB1/PE da Marinheira [Portugal]


    Students at EB1/PE da Marinheira carried out activities within the scope of the Safer Internet Week, in order to be alerted to the need to adopt a critical and conscious attitude towards what the Internet offers us. Thus, issues such as cyberbullying, fake news, phishing, the publication of photos or personal data were addressed, so that children, the most vulnerable users, can use that tool more safely.

    During the week, in the ICT class, they explored informative presentations and videos, played fun educational games and quizzes on this theme and talked a lot about the dangers inherent in using the Internet.
