RUSKILAN KOULU, NAKKILA

Ruskilan koulu / Ruskila’s school is a general primary school and we follow the national educational programme.Our school is located in the city of Nakkila.In Ruskila’s school there are about forty students. The students are aged 7-12. There are three classes (class 1-2, class 3-4 and class 5-6) and we have three teachers, one assistant and one food service responsible. The school is located in a rural area where the families lives in their single family houses. Nakkila is peaceful and close to nature municipality. In Nakkila there is historical place called Riaskaronmäki. It is the oldest place in Finland where humans have lived. The key person for the project will be the principal Päivi Mäkinen .In case of her absence, the teacher Satu Viitanen will take over the responsibility of project coordinator at school. We are a very dynamic school, we organize many festivities and activities during the school year. We believe that the specific programme has to offer us a lot of experiences since it is related to our education system. The staff and pupils are strongly motivated about 4C project, moreover since it’s our first international project we are very enthusiastic and ready tocontribute international education. Moreover the new curriculum of Finland is valued and it based on Learning by doing (Dewey)
