P8: Calligrams (04/2020)

  • Schools celebrated the World Creativity and Innovation Day.Students prepared calligrams regarding this national day by using the common words related to 4C’s and technology.The work will be displayed at Erasmus corners at schools.

    In the middle of a pandemic and with online classes, some schools carried out the April activity: calligrams. Many students opted for Wordart. It is a very intuitive online tool, easy to work and fun! Other students have given wings to their creativity and drew themselves. See some examples below.

    During a virtual meeting with the teacher, the students made a brainstorming on words and objects related to the task to be carried out and then made their work individually, sharing it in the padlet once completed.

    Students of Aşağı Çıyanlı Ş. Ahmet Birkaç İlkokulu have completed this activity in  two ways. Some drew their calligrams on paper with crayons or pencils and other prefferred to do it with online wordart application. It was an amusing work for students during the time they were away from school during the lock down period because of Covid-19. The students used the 4C’s related words both in mother tongue and English. This activity promotes the creativity of pupils. Moreover the activity is attributed to World Creativity and Innovation Day on 21st April, the main objective of the activity is to raise awareness around the importance of creativity and innovation in education.
