    The lighthouse of Alexandroupoli is 28 metres above the sea.Τhe mechanism of the lighthouse has a weight of 450 kilos. The lamp has 400 V. and it shines over 24 miles. It gaves 3 lights every 15 seconds.

    The lighthouse has inside 98 stairs and it is painted white and green according to the rules of IALA2.
    Its lamp works with electricity these years though at the past it was working with acetylin.

    The height of the lighthouse, from the base (4 meters in diameter) to the vertex (2 meters in diameter), is 32 meters. Inside the conical building there is a spiral staircase, in marble with a metal railing, which has 101 steps. Its light, which has an average height of 30 meters and 60 centimeters above sea level, is characterized by a white flash every 5 seconds (0.7 seconds of lightning and 4.3 seconds of eclipse). It is given by a 1000 watt lamp, a special tungsten filament, powered by electricity placed inside four prismatic lenses, incorporated in a rotating clockwork frame that has a maximum charge of just over four hours. All things that we have never noticed for years, going to Plaia, but which are essential for safety at sea.

    The height of Alexandropulis Lighthouse is 18 meters. It was build for showing road to ships in dark. It was build from collected stone.

    Baki Lighthouse is located on Absheron peninsula. It is 25 meter high. And The stones were used in the building of the lighthouse. Lighthouse was built in 1859 and in 1860 it was first used to show ways to the ship and boats. There are 102 steps inside the lighthouse.
    There are no pictures on the web of Baki Lighthouse and we hope to make our own photos when we visit the lighthouse.
