13th kindergarten of Rethyno /Greece

The 13th Kindergarten of Rethymnon was founded in 1996 and was housed in a rented building until 2010 where it moved to a public building housing the former 14th Primary School of Rethymnon. It is located on the ground floor of the building, on Kapodistriou Street 43 and is cohoused with the 9th Kindergarten of Rethymnon. At first Kindergarten had one class, but today it has two classes of a basic compulsory department and two classes of an optional full-day course, covering the attendance of 31 children 4 to 6 years old. The kindergarten has two classrooms, a united room used as a reception and a dining room, an office, children’s toilets and ladies' toilets. It has also a multi-purpose room and two courtyards which are used in common with the 9th Kindergarten of Rethymnon.

There are 3 kindergarten teachers permanent placed in school.  Head of school is Mrs. Fanourgiaki Anna. But the current school year, 2018/2019, they are working in school 4 kindergarten teachers and a  teacher who takes care of a pupil with special needs.

 We do have already experience in National and International programmes as well as E-twinning . We have taken part in two Erasmus KA1 programs and participated for the first time in a KA2 program. A few days ago our school was awarded an Etwinnning  School. Every year we also participate in many educational programs and educational actions.

The education of children is based on the project method and on the intersciplinary approach of knowledge.Children work individually and in small groups and are given the opportunity to discover and explore knowledge from various sources.

We are a school open to society that is often visited by special scientists,parents and students for educational purposes .we also try to organise  educationals excurcions to museums ,etc.
