Armbandet & Kättsätter

  • Armbandet and Kättsätter are two Swedish preschools that have a common preschool director, Ann-Kristin Källström Sundgren. Our staff consists of 51 teachers, a development educator, three chefs and also trainees. We have a total of 222 children from 1 to 6 years old, divided into 10 departments. The preschools are located in an area called Vilbergen in the municipality of Norrköping. The preschool yards have large lawns, fruit trees, carousels, bike paths, climbing frames, containers for planting, barbecue facilities and are located close to the forest. Both preschools have their own kitchen and our chefs prepare homemade, varying and nutritious food. On Armbandet and Kättsätter we work with a health methodology – “The Dream of the Good” – designed to create favorable conditions for people's health, learning and development. The “Dream of the Good” includes the four methods; stillness, reflection, movement and touch. Every day we practice yoga, qigong, mindfulness and massage with the children. We also teach children math, language, science, sports, carpentry, art, dance, drama, music, outdoor education and much more!

Our preschools have been working with the health methodology “The Dream of the Good” since 1996. Our preschool director, Ann-Kristin Källström Sundgren, is a pioneer and the first in Sweden to introduce these methods in preschool education. All our staff are certified teachers in the Dream of the Good methods. The methods aim to improve concentration, presence and relaxation skills among both children and the staff, and they encourage a caring and respectful attitude towards humanity and the environment. Armbandet and Kättsätter are Sweden's first certified “Dream of the Good”-preschools. We are an educational center and we continuously educate principals, teachers, parents and other stakeholders. We work consciously with the values of our preschools and we take an active stand against abusive treatment and harassment. In our preschools, we also work closely with children's families. The preschool should supplement the home by creating the best possible preconditions for ensuring that each child’s development is rich and varied.
