Our school is in Terni,110,000 inhabitants, there are 1000 students and 100 teachers. Students are 11 to 14 years old. The students are both from Italy and European and non European countries. Terni is not a tourist city and has only recently started to welcome foreigners, participating in such activities is essential to ensure that the students and the community broaden their cultural horizons. Some students have general educational needs, some need to improve the language we use everyday. It is important to deepen the knowledge and understanding of different cultures and languages. We are twinned with other countries and are developing an awareness as European citizens. Being part of this project will embed these links within the school. Families support these activities because they believe it is an excellent opportunity for their children to become better citizens, to learn languages and to develop lifelong learning skills and key competence. Local institutions and sports associations cooperate with us in projects to help students realize the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
