‘In the footsteps of the Middle Ages in Lębork ‘

As part of the implementation of the international eTwinning project 'Heritage - Our Passport for the Future' - on  17 th April, students of class 7a went on the 'Traces of the Medieval Lębork' rally. It was our sequent project task which was getting to know the history of our own town.

The route of the rally for class 7a was prepared by Ms Anna Zdończyk-Knura – the history teacher. The tourist trail ‘In the footsteps of the Middle Ages’ in Lębork leads along the old defensive walls and historical buildings of the town. It is perfectly depicted and presented on information boards in the town centre. Wandering along the medieval route, we pass, among others, St Jakob's Sanctuary, the Glazed Tower, the Ivy Tower, Tower 27, the Tower of the Brotherhood of Knights, the Square Tower, the Town Hall, the House of Paul Nipkov, the House of the Miller, the salt granary and the former Teutonic castle. Most of the objects are beautifully reconstructed, maintained and described or marked, which makes the route even more interesting and worth recommending for a historic walk around the town.

At the end of the rally, the pupils watched a film entitled 'Lębork - a defense system of the medieval town' in the local museum. Together, the goals and tasks of our project were discussed, too. The students also checked their knowledge of English on key words related to the subject of our project.
