    *THE  MUSEUM IN LĘBORK

    The Museum in Lebork is situated in the town centre (ul.Mlynarska 14/15). Its houses a wide archaeological, historical and ethnographic collection and has also acquired examples of art including  contemporary works.

    The museum exhibits the following permanent exhibitions:

    • archaeological, including monuments from the period: stone, bronze and iron

    • historical, as part of which old furniture and interior furnishings (made of tin), copperplates, documents (maps, postcards, photographs), military items and numismats are presented. One of the exhibitions is devoted to Paul Nipkow - a physicist and inventor, who was born in the house, which is the seat of the museum,

    • ethnographic, including a collection of monuments of material culture of Kaszubian area (agricultural and fishing tools, everyday objects) and a collection of works by Alfred Lubocki - a local painter and sculptor.

    As part of the "Steep Stairs" Gallery, numerous exhibitions of paintings, graphics and textiles by artists such as Władysław Hasior, Franciszek Maśluszczak, Kiejstut Bereźnicki, Włodzimierz Łajming, Teresa Miszkin, Hugon Lasecki, Günter Grass, and Tadeusz Kulisiewicz.

    In addition, within the museum, two towers belonging to the former defense system of the city are made available.

    The students visited all these permanent exhibitions and listened to a lecture on the history of Lębork, the population living in the town area at the turn of history, their culture, customs, the typical housing equipment for those times.

    *THE MUSEUM OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR IN GDAŃSK

    The Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk is located close to the historical centre of the city. The museum area covers an area of 1700 sq m. The students visited the main exhibition. It is one of the largest exhibitions presented by historical museums in the world. It is located underground. It tells us about the tragic times of World War 2 and contains a lot of exhibits. There are also multimedia positions, archival photographs and films.

    The greatest impression on the students aroused part of the exhibition entitled : "The terror of the war. Terror". It shows the war through the prism of the fates of soldiers, prisoners of war, prisoners of camps, adults and children. The most important topics of the exhibition are crime, genocide, terror and the extermination of civil population.

    The Museum of the Second World War is a place worth visiting, if only to participate in a different lesson than the traditional history lesson, the museum presents the W W2 in a modern way, both from the perspective of the great politics and, above all, the experience of common people.
