  • How is our physical condition?

    Are we really Healthy people?

    In Catalonia, INS Francesc Macià, we have used some TESTS to check our PHYSICAL CONDITION (AGILITY, VELOCITY, ENDURANCE, STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY, et...)

    Moreover, all students must think about HEALTHY HABITS and make a little report about it. These are some examples of some catalan students...

    In the agility test I got a 10 but I think that the scale is too low because I’m not very agile.

    In the jumping test I got a 8,5, I have worsened over last year because last year I jumped 2,10 and I got a 10.

    In the abdominals test I got a 10 and I agree with that mark because I think that I’m and good at this. In the flexing test I got a 9,5 and I have improved since last year.

    In the course Navette test I got a 10 and I also improved because last year I arrove to 10 periods and this year I did 12.

    I’m a very active girl and I really enjoy doing sports.

    Every day I go to the swimming pool and I often go to run races on weekends.

    I think that my habits are right and I’m having a healthy live. I also think that I don’t need to improve them.

    My level of physical condition is very good, my strongest points are the agility, speed, strenght and stamina taking in consediration that i have effort asthma. In jump i got a good score but i expected i would get a higher one because I can grab the rim of a basketball basket thats at 3,05m high. My weakest point is flexibility that I event couldnt arrive to my toes.

    My habits of health and physical activity for week are: 3 basketball trainings , 1 baketball game, referee 2 to 3 basketball federated games and going to the gym 2 times if i dont have exams.

    These habits in my opininion there's no need to upgrade them but what I could uograde is the way i eat, that i have to admit its improvable.

    In the Course Navette test I have a 7, compared to last year I got worse because now I don't have time to go running as I used to do. I still having resistance but I should improve this quality.

    In the speed test and the jumping test I have improved compared to last year and I have good marks in both (10 and 8,5).

    In tha agility test I have a 9, I consider I'm agile so I agree with this mark. Also I think I'm really flexible but I can't find my mark in this test.

    I'm an active girl, I think I have a good physical condition and healthy habits though I can improve them. I really enjoy doing sport. I dance once a week and I train "human towers" 5h a week.

    EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL CONDITION AND HEALTHY HABITS

    In the Course Navette test I have a 7, I think it could be better but I've improved since last year. 

    The leg strength test and the burpee test are my lowest results (6,5 and 6). But I have a 10 in both the speed test and abdominal test, this surprised me a lot because I didn't expect it. 

    Also, I have an 8,5 in the agility test, I think it's due to my dancing classes, but I have a 7 in the seat and reach test and I'd like to improve it because one of my goals is to gain flexibility.

    In general, I'm proud of my results because I've improved a lot since last year, but I think I could try to do better and break my own records. I think my physical condition and healthy habits are okay for my age, I go to dancing classes twice a week and I try to eat healthy most of the time, but I'd like to go cycling or running more often.

     

       

    Move- monitoring system for physical functional capacity in Finland

    Move! is a national physical functional capacity monitoring and feedback system for Finnish 5th and 8th grade pupilsThe main purpose of the system is to encourage pupils to independently take care of their physical functional capacityPhysical education teachers carry out the physical functional capacity measurements during physical education lessons and collect and forward this information to be used as part of the expanded health checks.

    To measure pupils' physical functional capacity, Move system consists of eight sections of measurements that provide information about the state of physical functional capacity.The sections measure pupils' endurance, strength, speed, mobility, balance, and basic motor skills. 

    Measurement sections are

    •20 meter line run (endurance, movement skills)
    •5 continuous jumps (lower limb strength, speed, dynamic balance skills, movement skills)
    •Upper body lift (core strength)
    •Push-up (upper limb strength)
    •Mobility of the body 
    Squat (mobility of the pelvis area and lower limbs)
    Lower back extension (range of motion of the lower back and hip area joints)
    Mobility of the right and left shoulders (mobility of upper limbs and shoulder area)

    Throw-catch combination (handling skills, perceptual motor skills, upper limb strength
