TODOS CONTAM

The Portuguese Financial Supervisors and the Ministry of Education and Science organise annually the Financial Education Competition TODOS CONTAM, which rewards the best financial education projects to be implemented in schools.

In 2018, Agrupamento de Escolas de Marco de Canaveses was awarded National Prize for the Dr. KIDS Clinic (CLIL Pathway in Financial Education). 

The winning project linked gamification of financial contents with bilingual and / or Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach, articulating the Core Concepts for Financial Education with the Portuguese Ministry of Education Bilingual Schools Programme and the Erasmus+ Project Hands On CLIL.

The project was guided by the aims that sustain both programs: (1) to explore within the educational context a set of financial topics with innovative and student-centred activities that contribute to the development of appropriate financial attitudes and behaviours, coupled with the (2) "promotion of good practices in English Language Learning through an integrated curriculum-based approach", meeting the recommendations of the European Union for the teaching and learning of foreign languages.

MY FIRST EXPERIMENT

The University of the Balearic Islands and the Science department Dquímicauib organize annually Science Competition MY FIRST EXPERIMENT, which rewards the best experiment presented.

In 2018, a group of five students from CEIP Puig d’en Valls was awarded with the First Prize, with their experiment “THE MAGNETIC TRAIN”.

This is the video they presented, where they linked Scientific contents, using Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach, and the Erasmus+ Project Hands On CLIL.

EUROPEAN LANGUAGE LABEL 2019

Hands On CLIL has been awarded The European Language Label 2019 whose aim is to highlight and reward innovative and creative initiatives in the field of teaching and learning languages.

We are warmly thankful to all the teachers that dared to challenge themselves and embrace news ways of teaching and learning English as a Foreign Language. It definitely was a win-win situation!
