AR is a new world about technology now being developed in the most part of the world (China, USA, Europe…). It has been an undeveloped project but now we’re receiving the first applications of this new way to see the world.
AR will be functional in many environments such as education. Children and young people will be able to learn by practicing and learning in a more dynamic way that will help them understand faster and easier. Maybe in one future, we’ll use AR to learn with internet tutorials in modern lifestyle. In job, AR will be present in jobs like tourism, all types of mechanics (help and information about mechanical issues or others…) design (house designers, futuristic clothes, the decoration of events like parties or international company’s meetings) and also in medical assistance, helping doctors with risky operations. In tourism, the AR will be a tool for learning in sightseeing, it might substitute the guides. Also, it will affect entertainment: in video games, mobile applications, sports…
Pokémon GO is one of the examples of the applications of AR.
Another example of Augmented Reality nowadays is the Swedish furniture company Ikea that made a catalogue allowing customers to see what products will look like in their houses.(2014)
Augmented reality won’t substitute human knowledge but it will help us to understand or practice via technology. The Augmented Reality will change the way of expression and our liberty, but it won’t change what the enlightenment stood for (probably machines will rebel against us and kill us all and enslave the survivors, but the point is that AR won’t change our liberty of expression).
