The game, which was used to be played by kings, is called chess.
Our game is called "Silent Chess" because nobody is allowed to talk during the game.
There are 2 teams with about 10 people each. There are 2 game lines at a distance of about 7-10-m drawn and the teams stand behind them.

The players are the "chessmen" who are allowed to make a small or big jump straight forward, diagonally or to the side. The jumps may only be made with both feet at the same time and must be simultaneously on the ground after the jump.

Each team must agree silently, without using any words, who may make the first jump. The goal is to tap an opponent and thus to throw him or her out. Only one person is allowed to jump at one time, if two players jump at the same time, one has to leave the game. Likewise happens when someone falls or stumbles. Each team takes turns.

If a person jumps over the enemy's finish line, this team has won. Likewise, if the opposing team no longer has any players in the field.

Statue Tag - Austria

A very popular game Austrians like to play is called "STATUE TAG", which is like freeze tag witz a twist. It is also played in large groups. The tagger chases the other players and when he tags someone, they must stop in place and freeze like a statue. They cannot move until another team member climbs through their legs. The tagger wins only if he can get all the players frozen at the same time. It's great fun!!!
