Here are some photos Anna & her students uploaded with their first trial at creating mask expressing emotions. The students really enjoyed playing, acting and creating some scenes using these masks. The related file titled "Expressing emotions" was written by the students, too... And the next step will be to make a video presenting some situations!

We keep working on emotions, trying to 'draw' them. The activity started with a small group of students, and then was carried on with the whole class.
Here is a link where you can find the album collecting the students' works

CLASSE 2^ C
ESPRESSIVITA' DEI VOLTI NELLE PITTURE DI GIOTTO DI BONDONE
EXPRESSIVENESS OF FACES IN GIOTTO' S PAINTINGS
During a lesson about the history of Italian 14th century painting, the students were presented with the topic of the extreme expressivenes of faces in Giotto's work, with particular reference to the affrescoes in the Cappella degli Scrovegni (Padua) and in the Saint Francis Cathedral ( Assisi).
Stupore, meraviglia, terrore, adorazione, paura, sgomento sono le principali espressioni che attraverso i volti dei protagonisti delle opere possiamo cogliere.
Wonder, amazement, terror, fear, devotion, adoration, dismay are among the main emotions which can still be read in these faces, in spite of the fact that they were painted so many centuries ago.
Ai ragazzi è stato proposto di ridisegnare i volti delle pitture di Giotto, attraverso una griglia di supporto, cercando di riprodurre l'espressività originale.
The students were asked to reproduce the faces, supported by a guiding grid, and to try to make evident the original expressiveness.
2^A: WORKING ON EMOTIONS
The teacher introduced the topic and promoted a brainstorming activity on how we can communicate, the difference between language and non-verbal language, what we can express through the body-language and facial expressions. Then, students suggested a list of words, expressing feelings, moods and emotions. In the end, children used the body-language to express emotions.
The activity was first documented using Tackk, but this app finally closed up and the materials produced could only be saved as PDF. It was really a pity, as the PDF needs to be downloaded to be seen while Tackks were immediatly visible. Everything was eventually recreted using Spark Adobe and uploading the result on UTube.
CYPRUS
We are also working on emotions!!! Students had an emotionstorming aiming to alter their emotion awareness, EQ. They reacted on scenarios of "I feel ........ when ......", described their emotions on certain facts and when they saw specific pistures. Then they expressed themselves by drawing some expressions!!!
