      Dear Natalia,

I managed creating pages! Hope everething is ok! Communication page was problem cause it was already there so I created beneath your Communication one more Communication

I saw my college left reply in visitor evaluation and I copy pasted post from teacher bulletins to journal. I’m still working , till Tuesday, but anyway I’ll be home cause my mum is in very bad stage. If you need any help, let me know,it’s no problem.

      All the best!

      Hi Maja,

      I hope you"re well.

My server problem has been fixed (hooray!!!!)

If you aren't away on vacation yet, could you give me a hand with the project?

Some new pages need to be created before applying for the QL. I'll edit them but they would appear to be the result of cooperation if the author was different from the last editor. So, could you create the following 5 pages (just add title and then copy-paste it in the main body of the page, too, and then click on save):

      Communication

      Cooperation

      Evaluation

      Use of ICT

      Dissemination

      Thank you!

      Take care,

      Natalia

      Hi Justyna,

Thank you for adding your comments. I hope the rest of the partners have done the same. I haven’t checked our collaborative pad yet because I’ve been having problems with my server (Unfortunately technology fails us)

Based on the comments added by the project partners, I’ll prepare a doc that we’ll all use for the application for the QL. I hope I’ll have it ready some time between July 7th and July 9th Then you can add or change anything you like and submit it. In Greece, the deadline for applying for QL is July 17th. I’m not sure whether the same deadline applies for Poland, too.

I’d be definitely interested in an Erasmus project with you. We’ll need to discuss it next autumn and prepare the application for March 2018. Right?

In the meantime, I’m planning on a new eTwinning project for school year 2017-2018. The project would involve Primary and Secondary schools (hopefully university students, too). Young ones will be students and teenagers will be tutors. Greek tutors (teenagers) will be teaching Polish students (Primary school children) and vice versa. Would you be interested? Is there a High School in your area that would be interested, too?

Enough with applications and projects! Now you need to rest and go on vacation. Have a wonderful time with your family!!!!!

      We’ll be in touch!

      Take care and Have Fun,

      Natalia

      Dear Natalia

I prepared and added descriptions and comments to each of the 6 criteria. From 1st to 5th July I won't be available since I am going on holiday with my family. I hope You will have a great holiday time.

Do we have a deadline for QL application? How much time do we have?

Would You be interested in erasmus project?

      Take care

      Hello Partners,

Unfortunately, we have all encountered problems either logging into Adobe Connect or hearing each other. Technology failed us but we won't take it. Applying for the Quality Label is the last thing we have to do and I think we can do it no matter what.

Since our online meeting wasn't as successful as we needed it to be, we'll resort to an asynchronous tool PiratePad to prepare the application.

      1. Follow the link http://piratepad.net/8pWA2aj4zy

      2. Add your name on the right of the screen

      3. Add your comments and thoughts under each one of the 6 criteria. Make sure you read the instructions at the top of each criterion.

      4. Bear in mind your teaching situation and add what you (the project teacher) have done, what the children have done in relation to the criterion (e.g. Communication - The children used the FORUM to communicate with their partners. Cooperation - The children taught each other poetry .........)

      5. ATTENTION Make sure that everything written on the application is supported in the TwinSpace. For example, children's names and comments in the FORUMs prove that they did use the FORUMs to communicate.

      6. If it is possible, create accounts for your headteacher, 1 or 2 colleagues, 1 or 2 parents and ask them to log in the TwinSPace, take a look at the children's work and add their comments in the Visitors' Evaluation Thread (here). Evaluate the project yourselves in the Teachers' Evaluation Thread (here) Thanks, Justyna, for the evaluation.

Post comments under photos or posts in the Project Journal!

      7. If there are videos and/or photos of your children whose parents have not provided authorization, the pages, where these videos/pages appear, should not be public. All the project pages will be made public eventually. If you wish some of them to be private, use the page settings. If you don't know how to do it, let me know.

      8. Dissemination. If you have posted an announcement or report about the project on the school web page or a local web page, if you have spoken about the project in public (to your school colleagues, other teachers, parents' assembly), if your students have presented the project to their parents at an event organised by students and teachers, make sure you add this information in the "Making the project public" Page of the TwinSPace.

      9. Add any material you have and you consider relevant.

I know that the list above may be too much for us at the end of the school year. However, all the activities of our project have been cooperative and qualify for the Quality Label. I'm almost certain that it could qualify for an award, too, provided that we prove it in the application.

So, do your best. DEADLINE to complete the PiratePad is June 30th. By July 7th, I'll have the final text completed.

      Take care,

      Natalia

I’ll wait for the rest of the people to respond until this evening and send you the invitation to the event first thing tomorrow morning. At the meeting we’ll discuss the 6 criteria and how each partner and all of us together managed to fulfill the criteria. This way we’ll come up with a draft of the official text we’ll submit for the QL.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

      Hi Maja,

Iwas very glad to see your message.

I've been having problems with my server again so I can't check
everything you've done. As far as I can see, everything is OK, There
is only one thing. Your last comment is posted on the Teacher Bulletin
where nobody has access apart from project teachers which means that
NSS evaluators won't be able to see it. Could you copy it and paste it
either in the Project Journal or in the Evaluation Forum or both!

I'll contact you again when the damage on my server is fixed (I hope soon)

      Take care,

You are a Teacher Administrator so you add and edit pages. I've started one about your school but it isn't visible because I"m using my mobile.

      Dear Natalia

I hope You are OK:). My students have written some opinions and feeling about the project. The are very happy to have worked with our eTwinning project.
I want to abologize for beeing silent for some time. The reason is that it's been a tough time recently. I got terrible news that my dad is seriously ill with a cancer and I couldn't focus on anything,
I don't want You to think that I neglected our project.
You are a special person and it's always been a pleasure working with You. You kept the project in order and to be honest I'm going to miss working together.

I want to ask about one thing. I believe we should meet somohow and work on the application for National Quality Label. I sent a message to our partners but I got no reply:( Have You got any idea how to arrange it? I would love to make an application together - it would be easier for all of us - i hope.
      What do You think?

We have the ending of the school year on Friday 23rd.

I would suggest dividing the parts of our application into four of us - project teachers and let's say exchange the descritions in two weeks...What do You think?

I'm looking forward to Your reply:)

      Poetry Activity

      Hi Partners,

I hope you are all well.

First of all, let me congratulate you all on the great videos you created with your students. I need to apologize because the final cooperative video isn't ready yet. I'm experiencing some technical problems with my laptop and I can't create video with Movie Maker. I'll do it using an online tool but the videos should be of smaller size so I need to resize them. So, please be patient with me.

Second, I should also congratulate you all on the photos and comments you posted in the Project Journal. Unfortunately, the comments posted on the Teacher Bulletin are visible only to us teachers, which is a pity because they show interaction, cooperation and provide feedback, namely the qualities that make a project successful! So, I've started a Teachers' Forum where we can exchange messages like the ones on Teacher Bulletin as well as longer ones regarding activities, problems, questions etc. "March and April 2017" thread is here. Post there whatever you wish to say to the project teachers.

Third, I'm very happy with our work so far. It's been both versatile and cooperative and you've been overwhelmingly hardworking so I've decided to ask you whether you would be interested in a live cooperative activity that would involve the children in teaching each other their native language through poetry (Phew, that was a long sentence). More specifically, I suggest we should organise the children in transnational groups depending on how many there are and we set a date and time for all of us to meet online. Each transnational group is given 10 mins. One or more students from each school teach a couple of lines of a poem to the other members of the group. Let me give you an example. "Transnational Group 1 is called "Mehmet Akif Ersoy" after the Turkish National Poet and consists of, let's say,12 students (2 from each school; 2 Croatians, 4 Polish, 2 Greeks, 2 Turkish from Serpil's school and 2 Turkish from Atike's school. The numbers are not fixed. We need to know how many children there are in each participating class). Atike's children act as Tutors, they choose a poem written by Mehmet Akif Ersoy, read it aloud and explain it in English to their international partners who will try to read it, too, assisted by their Tutors. When "class time" (10 mins) is up, the Tutors can ask the "learners" to record themselves reading aloud the poem for "homework". Docs with the lyrics and information about poem and poet, recordings and/or videos created by the Tutors to assist learning should be uploaded on TwinSpace. Learners' "homework" ( recording or video) should also be posted. Maybe we could use an Emaze presentation or a Google slide presentation where text (lyrics), videos and audio files can be added easily. The online teaching session will be recorded and the video will be uploaded on YouTube (unlisted).

If you are interested, complete the following google spreadsheet with your poet's name(TG's name), your pupil-tutors' names and your pupil-learners' names. There are going to be 2 tutors in each group but as many learners as we wish. The poet can be the national poet or a popular poet or a Nobel Prize winner ow whichever you wish.

Let me know when such a meeting is possible.April 3rd, 5th, 7th, 24th, 26th, 28th are dates that we can make it. What about you?

Use the Teachers' Forum for any question, suggestion, comment.

      Have a nice Sunday evening.

      Dear Natalia

It's been a busy month and that's why I haven't written so far. The suitable time for the online meeting for us would be 5th or 26th April. I have already completed the spreadsheet but we are discussing the poet and still choosing the poem. My students are looking forward to meeting our partners online. I have also added my students to the spreadsheet and we are almost ready.

Thank You for Your guidance, patience and ideas:)

      Love

      Justyna

      Hi Serpil,

      Thank you for your message.

Looking forward to the rest of the partners’ completing the spreadsheet.

The dates your class is available for online meeting are noted.

      We’ll be in touch.

      Take care,

      Natalia

      Hi Partners,

Some of the groups for Poetry Teaching Meeting have been formed. Check the google spreadsheet here and add your students' names so that there is at least one representative from each partner school in each group.

Serpil & Atike, Gosia & Justyna, could you please use different highlight to mark your children so that we know who is from which school?

To go on and organise the live meeting on April 5th as Justyna and Serpil opted for in previous messages, we need to confirm the day. Please, do so by tomorrow April 3rd the latest!!!!

The Greek children can join the meeting from 09:00 - 10:30 CET. Could you check whether your children are available at the relevant local time? If you can't make it then, we may be available at some other time so let us know.

As soon as I have a confirmation of the date and time I can register the event on eTwinning Live.

If attending the event puts too much pressure on you or your schools, we could arrange the meeting for 24th, 26th or 28th April.

Let us all know what you wish to do by posting your reply on the relevant Forum Thread here  (it's been archived and some of you couldn't post there before but it's OK now)

Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Cheers,

      Natalia

      Hi,

For the live meeting   my class is  available from 9 to 10:30 on 17th,18th,24th and 25th April or  from 1:30 to 3 pm on 13th,20th April.By the way my 6th grades will be away from school on 26th and 27th due to the Second Term High School Entrance Exams of the 8th grades.Have a nice Sunday!

    • Natalia Tzitzi - 02.04.2017 20:15

      Hi again!

Having received messages from Justyna, Maja and Serpil and taking into consideration Atike's post in the Forum I can tell you that

      • only Greek and Polish students are available for the meeting on Wednesday,  April 5th (Croatian may be able, too, but we'll be informed about it tomorrow but 3 out of 6 schools isn't enough I think) Due to a major family problem, Serpil can't attend either.
      • next plausible date is Wednesday, April 26th on which Atike's (see post in Teacher’s forum), Justyna's (see post in Teacher’s forum) and my class are available. If Maja and Serpil can also arrange it for April 26th then there will be 5 out of 6! I haven't heard from Gosia yet but now that the event is being put off for the end of the month she may be able to join us (just keep our fingers crossed)
      • as soon as we set the date we'll need to check the time

Justyna has prepared a number of files about the poet and the poem and maybe we could do the same and have everything uploaded in the POETRY folders in the Images, Videos, Files section of the TwinSpace Materials.

Let me know what you think.

Looking forward to your replies (posts in the Forum)

      Have a good night.

      Natalia

      Hi Natalia,

My students will be on holiday on the 26th and 27th of April as I have mentioned above.Did you mean 25th for the meeting?

      Looking forward to  Justyna's suggestion.

    • Natalia Tzitzi - 19.04.2017 09:51

      Hi Serpil,

I was really sorry to hear that you can’t make it on the 26th.

You’re right. Atike has responded mentioning the same problem as you. Atike is planning to send a video.

The rest of the partners haven’t reacted yet.

Let us wait for the other partners’ responses and then decide what we’ll do.

      Best,

      Natalia

      Hello Natalia,

Firstly, unfourtanetely meeting date is not suitable for me. I have supposed the date as 25th of April. There will be a National School Enterance Exam on 26th and 27th of April. So, the schools will be off/closed on these dates for the exam... But, the exam will be at 08.00am to 13.00pm. So, I can attend to the meeting after 13.00pm. I suppose Atike's situation is also as like my situation.

I will be waiting for your response, best regards.

      Hello Partners,

First of all, let me wish you the best for those of you celebrating Easter! I hope you had a very good time!

According to our last contact on April 2nd, “A world of famous difference" project partners are meeting online (on eTwinning Live) to teach and learn poems from each other's national poetry production. The online teaching-learning meeting is arranged for Wednesday, April 26th.

I have created and sent all of you a doodle so that we can decide the time of the meeting. The meeting will be held at the time most participants can make it. I know it may be difficult for all of us to actually meet on a regular school morning. We need to cope with class schedules, colleagues or headteachers' plans. If it is impossible, please ask your students to read their poem in English (once), in their native language (the first 3-4 lines, line by line or even phrase by phrase) and record their reading on camera. Have the video ready by Wednesday, April 26th so that the online meeting participants can have access to all the project poems. (You can upload your videos in the Materials Section/VIDEOS/POETRY)

The times in the doodle are CET

Remember to share your intentions either by contacting me or posting in the Forum.

      Looking forward to your replies.

      Cheers,

      Natalia

Here's the link for the docs, images, ppts or whatever else your students prepare to teach the poems on the day of the Poetry Meeting

      https://padlet.com/nataliatzitzi/PoetryMeeting

Maja & Gosia, let me know whether April 26th is convenient for you to meet online for Poetry Teaching/Learning. Since Atike & Serpil can't make it due to national exams, we may need to reschedule if you can't either.

One more thing. We need all the partners' videos to available so that we can make the cooperative dance video. Maja, there is something wrong with the Kalamatiano (dance) video and I can't download it. It fails because it is "unavailable". Maybe you need to change its settings from private to unlisted. Gosia, could you send me the video of your students dancing cifteteli, please? Let me know if there is something I can do to help.

Partners, we'll be in touch. After the poetry meeting we'll need to meet online to wrap up project work, arrange our shared TwinSpace and prepare the draft text for the Quality Label application.

      Have a nice day!

      Cheers,

I have uploaded them on etwinning space (material section). We will be available on Wednesday, please suggest the time and we will try to adjust:)

I have another question about erasmus +, I am looking for partner/partners to cooperate within earsmus and I am interested in student exchange. If You are interested or if You know someone to cooperate with Polish partners please let me know.

      Hi dear Natalia,

I'm so sorry for being "out" so long, I decided to prepare for the ESF call (the last month) and didn't have a chance to do nothing else, yessterday was final deadline. I can't make it either for the skype meeting , it was imposible to arrange and now there are no kids cause we have spring hollydays. I put some material on padlet.

Then I looked wat's wrong with Calamatiano, and you wan't believe it but it is because of the copywright of the song, look:

Now I'm not sure what to do with it. They say everething is ok, but it's not if you can't download it. I can make sound go away (and it's from pc phones, not the original, they danced by youtube song) or send you link from my onedrive of the video. What do you think?

      Hope we'll manage something...

      All the best,

      Maja

    • Natalia Tzitzi - 21.04.2017 18:17

      Hi Justyna,

First of all, let me congratulate you on the great job you've done with your students and the poem. I loved the videos!!!!!! You can check all the poetry material posted by project partners here

Almost all the partners responded to my last message about the date and time of the partner classes' meetings. The meeting is going to take place on Wednesday April 26th at 11 a.m CET .  Students in Turkey sit for their national exams on this date so Atike will send us a video of her students teaching poetry and Serpil will join us at 11:35 a.m without students but with a similar video. Maja isn't prepared for the meeting due to professional development obligations but she may join us with 2 students. Gosia hasn't responded yet.

So, let me know if you are OK for us to meet at 11 CET so that I can create the event and book a meeting room for Wednesday. Your students will present the poem and the poet for a minute or two and then they will read the poem phrase by phrase for their international partners (Greeks and hopefully Croatians) to repeat. Then we'll do the same for the Greek and Croatian poems. When Serpil joins our students will watch the Turkish video and repeat the lines after the Turkish children.

In my opinion, the activity is both interactive and cooperative despite the problem of coordination.

      Looking forward to your reply.

      Have a nice weekend

      Take care,

      Hi Justyna,

      Thanks for the message.

I know it’s a problem to have the meeting start at 11:00 in the middle of the lesson. It’s exactly the same for us but I thought this way we would have more time for each poet. So, since there are going to be 3 or 4 partners, we can keep it short. If there are 3 (Polish, Greek & Turkish), we’ll have 15 mins each to provide a short (1min ?) introduction to the poet and spend the rest of the time on teaching 4 lines from a poem. If the Croatians manage to join us, we’ll have 10 mins each. The objective is to have

      A. short videos of our children teaching (one-minute videos of peer teaching) and

      B. short videos of children uttering sounds of a language they don’t speak or learn at school (2 or 3-minute videos of cooperation).

Meeting Agenda (in case of 3 partners)

      12:30 -12:32 Welcome – Greetings

      12:32 – 12:47 Polish partners present poem & poet ( up to 2 mins)

Polish partners read first few ( 4?) of their poem  phrase by phrase and their international partners repeat. Objective: partners manage to read the poem without “teacher’s”  assistance  (up to 14 mins)

      12:48 – 13:03 Greek partners present poem & poet ( up to 2 mins)

Greek partners read first few ( 4?) of their poem  phrase by phrase and their international partners repeat. Objective: partners manage to read the poem without “teacher’s”  assistance  (up to 14 mins)

13:04 – 13:14 Turkish students’ video – International partners repeat.

(in case of more partners being present or more teaching videos available, times will be modified)

All the partners will receive an invitation to the event on the eTwinning Live platform (check the notification “bell” icon).

      Have a nice weekend!

      Cheers,

      Natalia

I'm sorry but we will be available with Polish students at 11.35 . 11.00 o 'clock would be a problem for us since we are in the middle of the lesson.  We will present a few lines of a poem and we will try to be prepared for the poet.

We like the activity very much and I hope we will manage to arrange it anyway.

      Take care

I am ever so sorry Maja couldn’t join us. Maja, I’ve checked the link to the meeting room and it works. You could also join the meeting room through eTwinning Live/My events where there is a list of the (upcoming and past) events you’ve been invited, too. It was a pity because your students were prepared for the meeting and you had made arrangements with your colleagues to excuse the students from Math class! I hope it wasn’t too disappointing for them. I don’t know if it is any comfort for you (and them) to know that the meeting had a technical problem due to which we couldn’t hear the Polish children reading their poem!

The good news is that Serpil’s children “taught” their poem. We did, too, while all three partner classes (Justyna’s, Serpil’s and mine) proved to be very attentive and enthusiastic learners! At this point, I should thank Justyna and Serpil for their efforts before and during the meeting.

Now, to make up for the children who didn’t manage to take part in the live meeting, we could make short videos of our children reading 4 lines of the poem, one line each time, word by word and then phrase by phrase. The video of each partner can be uploaded on the padlet. (if it is a short video, it doesn’t need to be uploaded on YouTube) OR we can share the videos on Google Drive(MP4 files). Then we can have our students repeat the lines of all the poems and create short videos of “Croatian students read the Turkish poem” or “Turkish students read the Polish poem” . Our students can read the poems of all the partners provided this is possible for the teacher. If the teachers can cope with it, they can have their classes read poems in three different languages. All the final videos (MP4) will be included in a Smilebox or an Emaze depending on the Mbs of each video. Try and keep the videos small, saved for computer not for high definition screen.

Despite of the technical or time problems, our project has many cooperative products to exhibit, which is an asset for a successful eTwinning project. THANK YOU for that!

Let me know if you need any help.

      Have a nice evening.

      Cheers,

      Natalia

      Dear partners,

I was online on Twinspace from 11 with my two students waiting for invitation link on bell symbol but now unfortunatly I had to leave the page cause I took students from math class and couldn't take them from Science class too. I also used this link bellow but it took me only to Etwinning home page.

Hope you had great time with meeting and I'm sorry for not managing the site and meeting instruction well.

      All the best,

      Dear Natalia,

I'll try to meet you tomorrow, Adobe meeting is new for me so I hope I'll manage, I pass the test for it, but who know with the eqipment. Anja and Lara will be reperesenting Croatia again and I'll took them from math class at 11.(at the end I'm not sure are we meeting at 11 or 11:30?). It will be a bit of improvisation of us but finally meeting of students is what is important and their experience and exitment about it:) My girls will read a poem in Croatian, then on English and Anja will read about a poet. Then they'll teach other students two lines of our song and try to learn other's two line of song, hope it'll be enaugh, we are back in school from romorrow and I din't have time to work better this activity, I'm sorry.

I'm glad you liked our math classroom with greek letter:) Itried to find video of Kalamatiano but I must look on my memory sticks tomorrow, didn't find it on my mobile phone or Onedrive or PC at school (urgh!).

Hope we'll manage tomorrow...I'm loging on your link as a guest no?

      All the best

Each partner focuses on  a national poet  who is very popular, a national change-maker, easily recognizable or simply one the children like very much.  The children study the poet and his wok as much as possible and pick one of his poems to be recited (read aloud) by one or two or more pupils. Reciting the poem is recorded  and the video is uploaded  on the Poetry Activity Padlet  as well as in the Videos Folder (Marterials Section) called "Poetry" . The video should also be accompanied by a word file of the poem in the language it was written originally, its English translation as well as its translation in any of the languages of the 6 partners. In other words, a poem by a Polish poet should be uploaded on the padlet wall as word document in Polish, in English (translated by the Polish children) and in any of the 3 project partner languages (Turkish, Croatian, Greek) translated by a professional translator. Each partner is assigned  a poem and the children draw its images or dramatize it or recite it in their own language. For example, the Croatian students recite a Croatian poem in Croatian and a Greek poem either in Greek or in English (translated by the Greek pupils) or in Croatian (if a Croatian translation by an expert is available). The Croatians also draw images of the Greek poem. MP4 and MP3 files of students reciting the poems and drawings are all uploaded on the Poetry Activity Padlet and in the TwinSpace Materials Section (Poetry Activity Folder)

Deadline for each partner to upload  material on national poet: March 30th, 2017

Deadline for each partner to recite & draw partners' poem : April 30th, 2017

      "A world of Famous Difference"

      Planning Activities

      1. Dance in January
(this is acually Maja's idea) it would be fun to perform some international well known song in our languages (by sequences) and to make merged song-video-performance of it in greek, polish, turkish and croatian..maybe we could do something like that in dance activity?

I did some research bearing in mind Greek songs that can be danced to and have gone international. You could check relevant song videos and info here
      a. Never on Sunday", also known as "Ta Pediá tou Pireá" (Greek: "Τα Παιδιά του Πειραιά"; English: "The Children of Piraeus"), is a popular song by Manos Hadjidakis.A vocal version was also released and performed by Melina Mercouri in the film of same name directed by Jules Dassin and starring Mercouri. The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1960, a first for a foreign-language picture.

It is said to be available in Croatian and Polish. Dancing to it could be taught by the Greek children in a video. (simple version of the dance)
video clip from the movie, lyrics translated in English https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6zPpUwbj9g

      b. "Zorbas" (dance: syrtaki, it's easy to teach)  No lyrics

      c. (other suggestion)

      d. (other suggestion)

      e.

      f.

      2. Poems in Feb
In Greek books there are texts byforeign writers translated into Greek. I suppose the same goes for your school books.
In addition, having done a bit of research I found Nobel Prize laureates in Literature who wrote in Polish, Turkish, Croatian or Greek.
Pupils could focus on one poet and/or one poem in their native language and recite it for partners to draw its images or dramatize it or ..........

    • Natalia Tzitzi - 10.01.2017 10:29

      Natalia
I was thinking about this activity and I have a suggestion. Now we have 4 counties in a project and each country  can perform a traditional dance - a very short one and then we can teach partners some basic steps - it can be a very short part of a dance so that it won't be too difficult.
In Poland we have krakowiak - our students can show You some simple steps to learn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FOCWt8mPcM
      instrumental https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjeK-bjlvXo
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTgYH__W2x8

And the same activity do other countries.
A final product would be one blended movie with Greek, Croatian, Turkish and Polish traditional dances - each dance would be performed by all partners.
To be honest I think it can be challenging but we would like to learn a few steps of Croatian, Greek and Turkish dances.

      Hi again,

Justyna, thanks for your prompt reply. It’s freezing cold in Greece, too. (So, brrr from me as well)

We haven’t decided yet on what the Dance activity would involve (traditional, modern or popular). Share your ideas and suggestions in the pad  http://meetingwords.com/0zoACnMqYj  and we’ll see what we’ll do.

We could plan both activities (Dance and Poem) and work with our children till February 15th Then we could collaborate for the end products till March 5th and spend the rest of the time till the end of April on project dissemination and applying for the Quality Label. What do you think?

      Looking forward to your replies.

      Take care,

      Hello Partners

Best wishes in New Year. We got back to school on Monday and it's freezing cold in Poland (temperatures drop below 20 degrees, brrr).

Actually we start a two-week winter holiday on 16th of January and I am afraid we won't be available until 30th January . We have very little time (one week to do the January activity)

Could You please give me more details about January activity - dance activity - is it going to be a traditional dance? A modern dance? a dancing to the popular song? What kind of music?

I'm looking forward to Your reply and guidance,

      Hi Partners,

First of all, let me wish a Very Happy and Creative New Year! I hope you had a great time with your families and I assume that you are back to school. Schools in Greece start tomorrow.

About our next activities you can add your suggestions, ideas or whatever else you wish to the online pad http://meetingwords.com/0zoACnMqYj The link was also sent through an email message from MeetingWords.

The pad will be available for you to make additions until Saturday January 14th. On Sunday, I’ll put all the ideas together for our next activities.

      Hi Maja,

Thanks for the wishes and the prompt reply.

I’ve added your idea in the TwinSpace Forum. Thanks for sharing in MeetingWords. It makes things easier for me when I collect all the ideas for the next activities.

I completely share your feelings about not having enough time to do everything we wish so I suggest we focus on two activities, one in January-February and another one in March-April. Then we should focus on project dissemination and apply for the Quality Label (a job that only the teachers should take on, not the children). Since we have different vacations and we need to plan classwork, we should plan now the two activities we’ll do from January till April so that each one of us can work with her students at her own time without too much stress (I’m rather old for too much stress!). Is it OK with you?

Thanks for being such a reliable and resourceful partner (I really liked your dance idea. Looking forward to dancing polka!)

      Have a nice week.

      Dancing Activity

      Lists of countries and dances.

For the “teaching” phase, each partner contributes

      1. A video with dancing instructions. In the video, project pupils dance and PE teacher or a pupil gives dancing instructions in national language and in English for project partners to know how they can dance. Teach the basic steps of the dance and keep both dance and video short. Let’s say less than a 1 minute long.
      2. An MP3 file of the music the project partners will need to dance to.
      3. Any other material that can be useful to the project partners to dance to the song such as
      1. A video of professionals dancing the dance
      2. Other music videos of the same dance for the partners to use the one they like
      3. Written instructions of the dance.

All the videos with the dancing instructions (as well as any other material such as images, videos, texts) should be uploaded in the ThingLink presentation here. Just to be sure that all the material has reached all partners, make sure that it is also uploaded in the TwinSpace (in the Dance Activity folder) by February 15th, 2017

For the dancing phase, each partner contributes a video of the students dancing the dance they have been assigned in the table above. If they wish to dance all the dances taught, they upload 1 video for each dance.  The video/s should be uploaded on the ThingLink presentation here and in the TwinSpace (in the Dance Activity folder) by March 10th, 2017

End product: blended dance video with 4 (or 5) dances performed by a different partner each  (or by  all partners)

    • Natalia Tzitzi - 12.02.2017 16:00

      Hi Partners,

I have just checked the Dancing Activity Thinglink. “Tutorials” on 4 dances ( 2 from Turkey, 1 from Poland & 1 from Greece) have been added.

To proceed to the next step, we should check the chart below and prepare a video with our students’ dancing the dance we are assigned here.

Since there are two Polish partners, they could dance a different Turkish dance each. Feel free to add any material (images, videos, texts) to Thinglink to help each for the dancing.

This message and the chart will be added to the TwinSpace Forum so in case you wish to add an idea or feel like discussing the activity, please do so in the relevant Forum. It is very important to exhibit some interaction and a degree of cooperation in order to achieve the National Quality Label!

      Hi Natalia,

I think Serpil Şahinoğlu from İstanbul,Turkey is our new partner. Will  both of us dance Polonez or Shall we wait for the second Polish school's dance ?

      Hi Partners,

A brief update: Dance videos for Polonaise from Poland, Zeybek and Tsifteteli from Turkey, Kalamatianos from Greece have been added to the ThingLink as well as in the Materials Section (videos, “Dance Activity” folder). Check ThingLink and TwinSpace, make a comment in the Project Journal and/or the Forum and let me know there (i.e. in the Forum) in case there is a problem.

Maja and Gosia, I hope you are OK and can join us in this activity. It would be great if you could add an instructional video to the dance your students wish to teach us, namely Polka from Croatia for Greece and …………….? from Poland (Gosia) for Turkey (Atike). I should remind you that the deadline for the Dance Activity is March 10th.!!!

Atike & Serpil, maybe you could contact each other and decide among yourselves which Polish dance you’ll dance.

Now, we should proceed with actually dancing our assigned dance. When our students feel safe dancing it, we can make a video of them. You send the video (in the form of MP4) to me through email or www.wetransfer.com

I’ll edit all the videos of students teaching their traditional dance and dancing their partner’s dance. The final video will be uploaded to YouTube, included to the Materials Section (videos, “Dance Activity” folder) and added in the center of ThingLink as our cooperative piece of work.

      zeybek

Actually, we started learning the steps of zeybek on the basis of the movie that is on etwinning space and my students are having fun with that. The film we learn from is for both boys and girls. I hope we focus on the right dance. Could You please Atike sent the links to the movie for boys and for girls - in order to avoid misunderstanding? Have a nice evening.
