My school is located in a more modern part of the city, a bit far away from the city centre.

    We are from Slovakia. It is a small state situated in Central Europe. It is bordered by Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, Austria to the southwest and the Czech Republic to the northwest. We live in a small town Ruzomberok. I tis a town in northern part of Slovakia. Cernova is the part of our town Ruzomberok. Our school is named after well known catholic priest Andrew Hlinka, who was born in Cernova. When he became a priest, thanks to him our school was built in 1933.

    Vârșolț is a commune located in Sălaj County, România. 64.1% of inhabitants were Hungarians, 32.4% Romanians and 3.4% Roma, 58.6% were Reformed, 33.5% Romanian Orthodox, 3.5% Baptist and 1.9% Roman Catholic. The Reformed church in Vârșolț was completed in 1774.
    Lake Vârșolț was built between 1976 and 1979. Vârșolț Reservoir is the largest lake in Sălaj County, Romania.

    Hi! I live in Rouen, a medieval city in the North of France. There are approx 110 000 inhabitants. My city is famous for its impressive Cathedral, and for the history of Joan of Arc, who died tragically in Rouen.

    Námestovo, Slovakia

    The city Námestovo is located on the north-west of Slovakia, near the board with Poland. It is small, young town. About 8 000 people live there. Our town is by the Orava dam. It is the biggest dam in Slovakia. In summer offer different sports and sightseeing trips. In winter there is o lots of places for winter sports as well. From the our town we have beautiful view on the biggest mountain High Tatras. We like our town.

    Palena is a small town, in the middle of Italy, in the province of Chieti, in the Abruzzo region. It is at the foot of Majella mountain, in the heart of the Majella park, at 770 metres, a mountain village. There is a small river, the Aventino river.
    The country has about 1300 inhabitants, but it has an ancient history.
    In our town there is an ancient castle, with a tall clock tower; in the castle there is an important museum, the “Geopaleontogic museum”, where you can see like the “Prolagus”, a very small animals, a little mouse, lived many years ago. There is the “Bear museum” too and a special wildlife area.
    Near the castle there is a theatre, and many churches; there is also a Celestinian hermitage.
    Palena is also called "The country of orchids" because in its territory there are about 60 species of these beautiful plants.

According to the ancient Athenian founding myth, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, competed against Poseidon, the God of the Seas, for the patronage of the yet-unnamed city; they agreed that whoever gave the Athenians the better gift would become their patron. Poseidon struck the ground with his trident and a saltwater spring welled up. Athena offered the Athenians the first domesticated olive tree. Cecrops (the Athenian king) accepted this gift and declared Athena the patron goddess of Athens.

    The town of Chios, called “Chora” is the largest town of the island with a population of 29.000. It is the administrative, cultural, educational and commercial centre of the island, as well as its most important port.

    It is built in the middle of the east coast, from where the Asia Minor coastline is visible. The town’s location indicates its close relationship with Ionia. Archaeological evidence indicates that the island has been inhabited since 6.000 B.C. The town of Chios was built by the Ionians a little before 1.000 B.C.

    During its 3.000 – year history the town has been through periods of prosperity as well as decline.

    Nowadays Chios is a vivid town with various economic, maritime and commercial activities. It is also the island’s cultural center, as most schools and libraries (The Koraes library among them) and the Homerion Cultural Center are situated there.
