    Our group - David, Paul, Jana, Nina, Laura, Lotta - are responsible for the PALA Eyewear Marketing Campaign.

    We divided our team into 3 subgroups:

    • Laura & Lotta: Poster
    • Jana & Nina: Social media post
    • David & Paul: Documentation

    Planning

    First of all, we started with a brainstorming, where we simply talked about the company, their values and how it appears to us (see picture below). At the end of our brainstorming session we thought about a possible slogan we could use for the campaign. Therefore we first chose "Not just glasses" but changed it later on to "More than just glasses". We find this slogan very suitable because it should represent the first thing that comes to customers' minds when they think about PALA. It is not just some glasses, like e.g. Ray-Ban, but there is so much more to it. PALA's glasses themselves are already great, but their ethics and everything that comes with it makes it just impressive. PALA really is "more than just glasses".

     

    The Instagram post

    For the Instagram post, Jana and Nina tried to stick to the design of PALA's previous Instagram posts. Therefore they chose for instance a sans serif font and rather subtle colours for the picture. Furthermore PALA's Instagram feed contains many pictures of landscapes, which is why we also decided on a landscape image. The image is meant to convey a soft, dreamy mood and perhaps make people who are hastily scrolling through countless Instagram posts slow down and think for a moment. Is there more to this picture? It is for sure no typical advertisement, just like PALA is no typical eyewear manufacturer. One probably would not instantly link the image to an advert for sunglasses but neither would one link sunglasses to all the charitable actions PALA takes in Africa.

    The Poster

    Beeing one of the most important points for the project, Posters are a topic of great importance for us. As it is quite difficult to express everything Pala stands for on only one Poster, Laura and Lotta decided on taking over the design of the Pala website for the Poster. Thats also why the ambutious missions and values of Pala also needed to be displayed on the poster, which is restoring vision, empowering communities and keeping their sustainable design. This poster leaves someone despretly wanting to find out more about the company Pala and its products wich they can with just visiting the website displayed on the poster.
