    GAME OF SCHOOLS -Gamification Project

    5 Countries & 8 schools were awarded wit National & European Quality Label in this Project

    https://twinspace.etwinning.net/91796

    The necessity of this project has its origins in the need of enhancing the motivation for students and teachers by learning 21st Century Key Competences and innovative teaching techniques which will be integrated into the curriculum and School Development Strategy Plan in order to create student-based learning system and decrease the school dropout rates which is a big problem throughout Europe and World.
    The biggest challenge any teacher faces is capturing the students’ attention, and putting across ideas in such a way that stays with them long after they have left the classroom. For this to happen,
    classroom experience should be redefined and innovative ideas that make teaching methods more effective should be implemented.
    Gamification is one of this innovative tecnique which really consitutes enjoyable lessons and follow learning to learning strategy.
    Students will not only improve their grades but also see the fun feautures of the courses and schools.

    Into the Hell from Dante to Minecraft

    https://twinspace.etwinning.net/85624

    This project want to envolve students to the Dante's world of Divine Comedy through technology.

    We know how difficult can be for our students understand a piece of literature like this, but as soon as you start to speak about this world of imagination you can see your students envolved.

    So the aim of this project is put students in the centre and let them build the world that they can imagine start form the Dante's words.

    We have already experienced the Benefits of Minecraft in the classroom:
    Minecraft gives students the freedom to create, pushing their imaginations to the limit and allowing them to be creative in ways not possible in the real world.
    Inherently about problem-solving, the game can inspire students' higher-level and critical thinking.

    Working on Minecraft make my lessons interactive, I would be the tutor, but the real experts will be my students, all students expecially who have difficulties in reading and talking will have the opportunities to express themselves.

    Theatre projects

    Schools worked together to realize some theatre performances on shared themes such histories connected to monuments, places and legends.

    Students from Borsi school in the first year participated in the Open  workshops held by the city theatre with the shows "Voices from Krakow" and "Turkey and its legends"

    During the year students read legends from Polish and Turkish traditions and had opportunity to share and deepen the legends by our partners the Ulamis Ortaokoulu school in Izmir e the Spoleczna Szkola Podstawowa STO of Starachowice-Poland.

    The reading of the texts, the journey through distant places and times, the reconstruction of environments and atmospheres have helped our students to get closer to the legends and traditions of Poland and Turkey, stimulating their creativity.

    "Voices from Krakow" is inspired by some legends related to the city and its monuments: the Wawel Castle, the Basilica of St. Mary and the Hejnal Mariacki, the trumpet sound of Krakow. The students have read the legends and have chosen the most significant ones to tell their journey through Krakow, a red thread that accompanies us in the squares and streets that come to life thanks to their voices.

    In "Turkey and its legends" students rewrite in a creative way the histories from Turkey and put them into scenes letting us travel far and far away.

    In the second year project, due to the lockdown, students worked on line to realize different videos starting from the legend of Dracula in connection with our school partner Liceul Pavelcu Iasi ROMANIA and puting it in a modern way inspired by the movie series Chica Vampiro that students love so much!

    To share our local history and legends from Livorno they worked on "Once upon a time..." telling us the legend of "The rock of the dancer", "The birth of Cacciucco" and "The witches of Gabbro", sea monsters with the face of mermaids.

    Students worked also in the conflict between rights and laws rewriting the classical drama of Antigone read through Fahrenheit 451, presenting some conflicts of their own age

    Students from Spoleczna Szkola Podstawowa STO of Starachowice-Poland worked on Pinocchio's story. Students read the book in English as audiobook for deaf people, they worked on the text and they finally perform it on the stage. So they went deep into an Italian novel well known all over the world as an example.

    Here it is the link to their performance

    USING DRAMA TECHNIQUES IN SCHOOLS

    eTwinning project:

    https://twinspace.etwinning.net/182866/pages/page/1699495

    This theme of extracurricular educational activity was carried out in May 2021, during the five days of online mobility in Romania.

    Drama therapy is an established and validated form of therapy that can be applied to a wide range of participants (as peoples are generally called in this treatment modality) in an even broader range of issues, problems and disorders. The evidence backing its effectiveness is compelling, as is the intuitive reasoning behind its appeal.
    It is rooted in instinctive human behaviors and need fulfillment, and takes advantage of some of our inherent desires to enact positive change and promote healing.
    This project aims to put into practice some dramatic techniques by which students with behavioral disorders or disabilities or children from disadvantaged backgrounds can cultivate self-esteem to gain the courage to express themselves in society and get rid of inhibitions when they want to express their own ideas in public.

    GOALS:
    1. Using Drama Techniques as an awareness of the existence of games and impersonation in Creative Drama Sessions;
    2. To perform with a team including disadvantaged students;
    3. Using drama in teaching/ therapy that students can make pantommime about life scenes to resolve their problems.
