Sharing fond memories from some german students who visited our partners

  • Sharing fond memories from some of our students who visited our partners:

The trip to Slovakia was very long; 15 hours by car, plane and bus. However, I was excited that I will soon see my host student, whom I had already chatted with on the internet. When I arrived and got out the bus, my host student recognised me and we hugged for a long time. We were very happy as we drove to her home.

Over the week, we did a lot of nice, interesting things and I met a lot of lovely, kind people. It was great to see a big mountain and other nature that was different than in Germany. We also visited an old peoples’ home and made a lot of elderly people laugh and smile. In the evenings, we would often go to a bar and meet with some of the students from all five of our partner lands. I made some new friends this way.

As we began our journey home I was very sad, because I didn’t want to go home so soon. A lot of people were crying and it was very emotional saying goodbye.

All in all, I would say that it was a worthwhile project and I would recommend this kind of EU experience to anyone.

I liked my time in Ostrava very much. All the students I met were very nice to me, and we talked a lot and played some games together. I wasn’t so fond of the food though. There were interesting things to buy and I brought home presents for my family and neighbours.

I like to travel and I think that this is a good way for any student to see and experience another country.

I had a very nice time in Slovakia, meeting new people and seeing how they live there. I really liked my host student and family, and we did a lot of fun things the entire week.

I have made some new friends and I am very pleased about this.

When someone is considering making such an exchange I would really encourage them to do it!

I had a super time in Presov. My host family were very kind and took good care of me.

The attractions I saw there were very interesting, and the other students I meet from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and Italy were good fun to be with. I made some friends for life!

It was my first time in Slovakia and it was even better than I imagined it was going to be. The culture, weather and food were fantastic!

I miss this time and often think of the group work that we did together and about all the different opinions about life I heard.

I had always wanted to visit the Czech Republic and I wasn’t disappointed. The people, landscape, culture and food were all wonderful and I am still in touch with my host student.

I had a fantastic time and I sure want to go back to Ostrava one day!

A day in the Czech Republic

We all met at the school at 8 o’clock. Then we got our information what was happening that day. After some group class work, we drove two hours to the mountains by bus. It was so much fun; we were singing a lot of songs and laughing a lot.

We walked to a monument at the top of the mountain and took a group photo of all the students and staff. There was a lot of snow and it was pretty cold, but the view from the top was great. On the way back one of our two buses broke down and we had to squeeze together on the other one to keep warm. It was so funny!

We went to a small town with a beautiful church, and it sold gingerbread only made there. We sang a lot of Christmas carols in front of the massive Christmas tree by the church. It was a great time to get to know some of the many students from our 5 partner lands. After our bus was repaired we all made the journey home, tired but very happy!

    It was an amazing day!
