Mobility in Ostrava 2: Catalan Journal

  • 10th April

    Today we left Prats at 11 o'clock to go to the airport.
    We took off at 14:40 and arrived in Prague at 17:15
    We met the I talian team and left for the hostel. We settled down and went for dinner! Pizza!
    After that we did a walking tour to the Main Square and Charles Bridge.

    11th April
    Today we got up early to go to the station. We dropped our baggage in lockers and left to a café where ADRA (international institution) gave us a presentation about their work. We also did a workshop about fair trade.
    After having lunch, we took the tram up to Prague castle where a homeless gave us a tour around the castle and its q uartier.
    After that,  we had some time for shopping to finally take the train to Ostrava. 3 hours!
    Once there we met the families and left dir dinner. It was a tiring day but we enjoyed it.

    13th April

    Today we went to school and participated in an Art lesson. We had to draw pictures without looking at the paper. Finally de has to colour them. It was fun! 
    Afterwards de joined the music lesson in which de rehearsed a Catalan song: El meu avi, an I talian song and a Czech one.
    In the afternoon we went to the Beskydy mountains! Beautiful! De walked for 4 hours and has dinner at a local restaurant! Very
    typical!
    We arrived in Ostrava at 9.

     

    14th April

    Today we spent the morning at school. First we did some conversation practice and afterwards we rehearsed the songs in I talian, Czech and Catalan that we would sing in the hall.
    At about half past eleven we started our perfomance in front of many students from the school.
    We did  quite well!
    After lunch at the school canten we left dir Vitkovicze where Jolana explained what it used to be. A kind of town - where workers who worked in the factory lived.
    Then we went to two museums which were fun because they were very interactive.
    At 6 we finished and went home to our host famílies.

    15th April

    Today we went to school to leave our luggage and then de visited the firefighters' centre where they explained how they worked and the trucks they use.
    After that we had dinner at school and went to the city centre to do some shopping. 
    We ended the afternoon by attending a presentation at a sheltered workshop where they employ disabled people.
    We said goodbye to our Czech and 
    Italian friends and we took the train to Prague.
