1) Salvador Dalí - Bread (see attached picture). The symbolism of this painting is a basic need and at the same time an object that shows richness. It was painted at the end of the 2nd wold war or he finished it the day the war ended ( I don't know exactly) .
This painting is in Figueres ( Dali Museum) and Dalí uses bread in many different works of art.
2) Typìcal Catalan Food - bread with tomato - and a bit of salt and oil ( in the past the tomato was used to make the dry bread form the days before more tasty and easy to eat). Edita I think you and your students have tasted. Healthy mediterranean diet
3) One of my student's father is a baker and he makes wonderful handmade bread so we could ask him to colaborate in showing how traditional bread is made.
