Miejski Zespół Szkół No. 2 was established on 1 September 2007 as a result of joining together Elementary School No. 1, established in 1986, and Junior High School No. 1, established in 1999. It is not a very big school. There are in total 732 students in the whole complex. There are 448 students in the Elementary School and 284 students in the Junior High School. There are 57 teachers working here.
The students are learning two foreign languages, English and German.

According to students' and their parents' expectations, we are making an endeavour to develop a modern and innovative school which supports talent and is opened for the needs of the local community. We have received following certificates: the Innovative School, Save Internet School, Taking Care of the Safety School, Support Abilities School, Sport Tradition School, and the School which promotes Bolesławiec. The strong points of our school are a very good collaboration with the students' parents, and the fact that it is a rather parochial and cosy school. We also have good educational and athletic programmes.

We support our students in their process of comprehensive development, urge them to search for creative solutions and arouse curiosity in their discoveries of the history, as well as the contemporary world. We encourage them to look bravely into the future and on their existence in the united Europe.

Our school offers their students a lot of possibilities to develop their hobbies and passions at a wide range of after-school activities. The students can also participate in various competitions and contests. Twice a year, before Christmas and Easter, the school organises a Talent Show where the students can present their skills, talents, and works. The whole school community together with the parents demonstrate the traditional food, seasonal and holiday decorations, and handicrafts. The students hold concerts and performances demonstrating fairytales, legends, traditions, and customs. During the Pottery Festival, many of our students participate in the Gliniada. They, as well as several hundreds of citizens of Boleslawiec and tourists from all over the world, paint their bodies with liquid clay and walk in a huge white procession down town streets. This is our way of celebrating the pottery tradition in our town.

The school staff is well-qualified and open-minded about new technologies, as well as the traditional teaching methods. We do a lot of international projects within the framework of eTwinning - school partnerships in Europe. We also participate in other international projects within the framework of the Euroregion Nysa, the Polish-German Young People Cooperation, and a Cross-border Cooperation Operational Programme between Poland and the Czech Republic. One of our main goals is the regional education, which helps our students to discover and define their identity in the contexts of family, local, national, European, and global community.
