Mythology and Earthquake Worldwide

  • Mythology and EarthQuakes worldwile.pptx

The children were divided into small groups. Each group got a card with a mythical hero. The teacher didn't give them any information about the picture. The children tried to imagine the story behind each picture, who is depicted, what is happening. Then they presented their stories to the rest of the group.

Then we learned about the myths and countries they belong to. On the world map we found the countries where we learned the mythology about the earthquake, and we identified them with the mythical heroes.

In the end we played with the robot floor. One group placed the mythical heroes of Earthquake  in the grid. Τhe mouse had to avoid them, in order to reach its nest saftly, without an earthquake. Another team planned the robot and the rest of the kids controlled the game.

Moreover students they match the heroes with their names and their origin!!!

They also play a game called what am I! A students wore a wreath and place a card that depict a heroe (without see the heroe) the other students with pantomime help him/her to figure out what heroes is!!!

And at the end they use the floor robot beebot and find the heroes

Then we found and marked the countries to which mythological heroes belong on the world map.

We helped the Doc Robot to reach Earth and Quake next to it without entering dangerous areas (purple, brown, red, blue, gray, green squares). Some students have prepared the playground. Some students created the code so that the Doc Robot would find the rigt way.Others programmed the Doc Robot in accordance whith the code.

And after all Earth, Quake and we both had fun and learned.

After studing the myth of the earthquake in several countries, the children were asked to pair each version of the story with the flag of the country it comes from.

After that, students tried to direct bee bot on the right path, to find the correct flag of the country among a number of flags, in order to connect it with the corresponding myth.
