Gradual action in the project

  • „What has already happened?“ and „What should happen still?“

Art: All art courses at our schools were invited to design a logo for the project. The best results were introduced at the first meeting in Spain and from those a logo was chosen for the whole project. (The Italian logo won!) All suggested logos can be found in the Twinspace under „Project activity > Suggested logos!!“

English: Within the scope of group work phases, the participating courses shot videos clips introducing our towns, our schools and our school systems. These videos were published on "youtube" and in the "Twinspace" and were also shown on the first meeting in Seville. The students taking part in this meeting functioned as multipliers reporting this at their home schools in their courses (with the help of the videos in the Twinspace). The videos can be found in the Twinspace under "Our schools" and "This is us".

English / Mathematics: To get an idea of the other school systems and to find sensible working subjects for the project work, the national curricula for Mathematics of the participating countries were translated into English and were compared with each other. The curricula can be found in the Twinspace under „Project activity > Math Curriculum“

Mathematics / English: The project language is English hence all communication is in English be it directly at the meetings, through mail or Facebook (the students primarily use Facebook to get to know their host families before a meeting and to prepare and organise presentations for the meetings).

The teachers of Mathematics provide the Geogebra files which are the basis for the student´s work between the meetings and help them to prepare presentations for the meetings. The files provided cover the topics taught at school according to the national curricula. Up to now files were provided covering linear, square and trigonometric functions which are all taught in all participating schools. We also created files explaining „symmetries“ helping to investigate the art and harmonious joining of single elements in buildings. We plan to add even more  Geogebra files for the upcoming meetings. All project participants can access these files constantly, because they are published on Geogebratube. Because the students become “teachers” in the meetings teaching their fellow students they must have understood the contents at a higher level which exceeds the normal understanding at school because, otherwise they could not explain it and above all not into another language.
