II. Sorry, may I ask you a question? (10th March)

  • These are the groups from the three countries you'll work with:

    GROUP COMPOSITION

TASK 1. Check your partners, and contact them before you start working together.

You can use the online meetings for that (either chat room or book a slot for a live meeting). You'll find them on the members page, for this first contact.

Alternatively, use MeetingWords for chatting with your partners about the questions, and any problem you might happen to have with the recollection of data. It´s very important to write your name before writing anything, so your contribution will be registered.

TASK 2. Create and share a video explaining your question and how do you want your partners to collect and record the data you're going to need for your research.

Procedure: First, upload your video to your folder in "materials" with your group's name (S1, I1, Sp1). Then, link the video to the Twinboard, and name it as Group nr + question's short title (Sp1_budding time of birch).

Hello! We're a group of students from Pamplona and we're going to do a research about birchs' phenology. Our researching question is: How does latitude influence birchs' phenology?
We have attached the video and the pdf document that we made to explain the way we think is best to take the data.
If you have any doubt don't be afraid to contact us.

    Group 14 (Slovenia)

    Hello guys.
We decided to send you a star-related assignment. All you have to do, is go out and watch the stars 7 randomly chosen evenings. Compare the stars you see with the eye and the stars on the googleSky app.
To keep you from observing all stars, we have assigned you the constellation The big dipper.
    You must observe:
    1. in which case the constellation is more clearly visible
    2. if the constellation changes position
    3. whether the app accurately displays the star placement in that particular constellation

Group 5_Sp1 (Spain): to Group 2 from Slovenia and Group 12 from Iceland

    Hi,

We are María , Irati, Laura and Andrea. Our task was finding different birch trees and compare how the different latitudes between our three countries affected to their shoot. Nevertheless, due to this new situation with the Covid-19, we can't go out and see their development.

We have a new investigation activity: With the web site “inaturalist”, we ask you to make a research about the biodiversity of the Betulaceae family: as birch trees, alder's, among others, so we could compare the differences between Iceland, Slovenia and Spain.

To pick up the data, we have created a table in which we have to write down the name in English and its name in latin, the exact zone of its location and the date of period when these trees bear fruit, adding a photograph of each species mentioned.

If you have any question or doubts, please, contact us.
