Colours, Patterns and Healthy Food
Here is grade 1 class learning about healthy food, colours and patterns. The students had a lot of fun with this activity. Again, the video was created by a student in the grade 8 classroom as part of their class requirements. They are also enjoying being part of this project-but behind the scenes!

It is a very interesting research from Canada!
Agriculture in Saskatchewan, Canada
*note how large my province of Saskatchewan really is!
Our students were able to visit an Orchard outside of out city which is experimenting with different growing methods and food types. This orchard grows only organic food and has a restaurant that serves only food grown our local area.
The students had opportunity to learn about container gardening (which is becoming more popular due to many people not having space for gardens), explore the restaurant garden and discuss how they can begin to grow their own food.
Here is additional information for the partner countries to truly understand how critical the business of growing food is for our province:
Agriculture is the root of Saskatchewan's economy and accounts for over one-third of the province's total exports. We have over 40 per cent of Canada's farmland totaling more than 60 million acres. Approximately 33 million acres of agricultural land is used for crop production each year.
Saskatchewan is known worldwide as a consistent and reliable supplier of safe, high-quality grains, oilseeds, pulses and livestock. In 2014, we (Saskatchewan) produced:
99 per cent of Canada's chickpeas
96 per cent of Canada's lentils
86 per cent of Canada's durum wheat
83 per cent of Canada's flaxseed
70 per cent of Canada's mustard
60 per cent of Canada's dry peas
54 per cent of Canada's oats
49 per cent of Canada's canola
Saskatchewan exports more than $1 billion in each of the four key product sectors: cereal grains (wheat, oats, rye and barley), oilseeds (canola and flax), pulses (peas and lentils) and edible oils (canola). In 2014, Saskatchewan was responsible for:
71 per cent of the world's canaryseed exports
65 per cent of the world's lentil exports
55 per cent of the world's pea exports
39 per cent of the world's durum exports
36 per cent of the world's flaxseed exports
36 per cent of the world's oat exports
25 per cent of the world's mustard seed exports
24 per cent of the world's canola meal exports
21 per cent of the world's canola seed exports
17 per cent of the world's canola oil exports
Our younger partners from Lithuania study which vegetables are healthy.
They are trying to prepare the salad, dance and play various games, where guess what vegetable it is!
It's very interesting to make the exhibition! These are animals made of vegetables!

In our school, on 6th of November, in grades 0 - III we organized the breakfast to give children a chance to prepare and eat the most important meal of the day. Children had fun not only to share with others, but also to try new flavors, find out what other kids like to eat for breakfast and why breakfast is so important. Here's the example which can speak to children's imagination: Car without petrol can't take us on a trip and the student without breakfast won't have enough energy to play and learn. To one and another the "fuel" is essential.
