AMEP France

  • AMEP is a private school under contract located in Martinique, one of the French West Indies; it is a French Overseas Department close to the American continent.

It includes a primary school, a lower school, an industrial vocational high school, a senior and technological high school and departments of higher studies. Therefore, the school provides every teaching level. We have almost 1000 pupils from 3 years old to 21 years old.

Students come from different social backgrounds and can mix with each other embodying the cultural notion of the French Education System for the Secondary schools, which is the art of living together.

Our insularity and geographical situation make our openness to the international necessary. Besides, many of our students have never been to continental France and Europe.

The teaching teams are supportive and consequently favour the success of the students and their integration into the world of work.  Thus, a special attention is devoted to citizenship, culture and multilingualism.

The school has always been open to the international activities:

    • Virtual exchanges through e-twinning,
    • School and cultural trips for students,
    • Welcoming of language assistants
    • Training courses in Europe for the teaching staff.

AMEP has a charter named ECHE, which allows it to organize internships abroad for its students, in Europe.

The school also organizes internships for students in the Caribbean.

The team, which leads the project, and the teaching teams are involved in cultural projects and innovative teaching experiences.

We have the eco-école label for 4 years. We have a team (teachers, personals, pupils and students) working on sustainable development.

The project team is composed of an internationally minded academic advisor, of a DDF in charge of Erasmus and language teachers.

This team has organized projects dealing with the teaching of languages and cultural projects; it also has led  language  and cultural study holidays. As a result, it has an expertise in the implementation of projects and the organization of mobilities.

The Headmistress and the Accounting department are also involved in projects, which are open to the international.
