Hey! 

We are the students from San Nikolas Ikastola. We are 15 years old and we are currently studying 10th grade. We come from quite a big school near the coast of Getxo, The Basque Country. 

The school was built in 1963 thanks to the effort of a group of parents that wanted their sons and daughters to continue with the basque culture and language, which is Euskara. 

At the beginning the school started with just one class of 12 classmates and has been developing throughout the years. Nowadays there are over 1000 students in total. 

We have two buildings; one of them for the children between 1 and 4 years old and the other one for students between 4 and 16 years old. Besides, there are three classes in each level with around 25 classmates. Even though our lessons are mainly in Basque,  we also learn other languages, specifically, our school provides us with Spanish, English and French lessons.

We are concerned about our planet’s situation nowadays and we think that having a sustainable lifestyle is crucial. That’s why we are really looking forward to being part of this project, because it will give us the opportunity to make our school a better place.
