GENERAL

  • Welcome to our eTwinning-Erasmus + project "The Heptagon of Equality".

Throghout the different pages we hope to share the excellent contributions from pupils and teachers to the project.

Thank you for visiting our Twinspace!

    AIMS

This eTwinning project has three aims which fit into the short, medium, and long term vision of the Erasmus+ “We are European, We are Equal” project:

First, in the short term, we aim to encourage the full participation of pupils in the project through collaborative activities on Twinspace. This will be achieved by using the new Twinboard feature to help pupils develop key competences in preparation for their work before, during, and after the Erasmus+ mobilities.

Second, in the medium term, we aim to help pupils develop their literacy, language and digital competences, reinforced by the use of the eTwinning platform, activities on safety on Internet, and through the use of accompanying online apps. Likewise, for teachers, the project also intends to support teachers to continue evolving in their pedagogical approaches to integrate competence-based learning and PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology.

Third, in the longer term, we will try to encourage families to follow the project and even use the Twinspace platform themselves by making them feel a very valuable part of this element of the project.

All in all, we will strive to ensure that eTwinning becomes a European online platform to help support pupils, teachers and families to collaborate as they work towards fulfilling the aims of the project. Most importantly, these aims are connected to tangible and intangible results with regards to tackling ESL (Early School Leaving) and social inclusion.

    WORK PROCESS

As collaborative partners in the “We are European, We are Equal” project, we have cultivated a vibrant synergy on the eTwinning platform now for two years. Proof of this progress has been the achievement of a quality label from the Spanish Ministry of Education for the “We Are European, We Are Equal” project.

Central to this synergy is communication, and this has been vital to maintain high standards of collaboration and high quality outputs. Communication on the eTwinning platform between schools will be carried out through project coordinators. We intend to post information on the project blog once a week. We also expect for our pupils to interact on the platform once every fortnight and hold a videoconference once a month.

The calendar for the “Heptagon of Equality” project is determined by European celebrations, such as the “European Day of Languages” or “Europe Day”, amongst many others inspired by the celebration of international days related to the seven themes of the project. We will encourage pupil involvement through curricular integration as pupils in each school will have allocated time to work on our eTwinning project within school hours.

A major output for the pupils will be the Pupil Project Diary. Moreover, collaborative teams involving pupils from the three schools will work on the different project themes using Twinboards to share opinions and resources to produce common results.

    EXPECTED RESULTS

The primary result of “The Heptagon of Equality” project will be a memorandum in an ebook format which will include all the milestones of the project.

To achieve this, this project will encourage pupils to use EU tools such as Europass CV and Europass Language Passport as part of their everyday learning. With this, pupils will have their own record of their work in an individual ePortfolio.

Added to these individual outputs, pupils will contribute collaboratively to produce oral archives at different stages of the project. Pupils will draw conclusions and suggest actions on the seven themes of the project at a local, national and European level.

Pupils will complete activities in preparation for their mobility to Italy, a handbook during the mobility and a shared presentation after it. They will also have to complete a “safety on the Internet” introductory activity.

For teachers, the main results will be the creation of their own teaching portfolio to include evidence of their involvement in the project, improvement of their digital competence, and the evolution, therefore, of their pedagogical practices. Teachers will also help to produce videos, oral archives, lesson plans and other resources. They will also have a great input in the production of the project’s e-book.

For families, the primary results will be the active involvement in the project and supporting their children by using the eTwinning platform, participating in the different activities and the production of different outputs such as oral archives and videos. They will also reflect upon the impact of the project and share this contribution in the project’s e-book.
