TITLE: "A RIVER OF CULTURES" INCLUSIVE GUIDE OF VALENCIA HERITAGE
Where and when: IES Salvador Gadea (Aldaia) | 2019-2020
Who:
Students: 25 students from 12 to 16 years old
Teachers: History, English, Mathematics
Other educational community members: families, Educator from local Down Syndrome association, Expert from local Visually Impaired Foundation, Speech therapists from associated Primary school
Why:
1. To assess accessibility of different Valencian heritage sites.
2. To create and submit to local government an inclusive guide of Valencia heritage (easy-reading version in Valencian, Spanish and English, pictogram version in Spanish and Braille version in Valencian, Spanish and English).
3. To offer a guided visit to Valencia city center and Turia Park to a group of students with diverse cognitive impairment.
What and how:
From September to January 2019 we have visited different areas of Valencia, to analyse its accessibility and to collect information for our inclusive guide.

During the same period we have had training workshops about inclusion, easy-reading adaptations, visually impaired resources and pictogram educational uses.

This project will continue from now till May 2020, with the edition of the different versions of the guide, a meeting with local authorities and a cultural visit shared with group of students with diverse cognitive impairment. There will be a closing ceremony with an expert in Inclusion and Human Rights.
