    EU Day of Parks

On May 24, we celebrate European National Parks Day. The date is not accidental - on May 24, 1909, the first national park in Europe - Sarek in Sweden - was established.
National parks are a form of nature protection. They are created in areas distinguished by exceptional natural, scientific and educational values. All nature (animals, plants, mushrooms) is protected within their area.

    This is to maintain:

    - biodiversity (i.e. a large number of different species in one area)
    - natural resources (e.g. rivers)
    - inanimate nature (e.g. gołoborzy, i.e. natural rock debris)
    - landscape values (e.g. relief of the terrain shaped by nature).

We currently have 250 national parks in Europe

    POLAND

We currently have 23 national parks in Poland,

An interesting fact is that it is planned to create 3 more national parks in Poland (Jurassic, Turnicki and Masurian) :)

Polish national parks stretch from the coastal belt, through the lake district and the lowlands, to the mountains in the south of Poland - visiting them is a great excuse to relax in the bosom of nature, and to get to know the greatest treasures of our nature.
