15.07.16 - Pek new experience in Cacem, Sintra

  • Another set of Pek’s adventures comes to an end!  It’s been 7 years since the first comic book was released and Pek’s curiosity  to explore, meet new people and places and learn more and more is more alive than never! And here is our fourth comic book ready, this time with Pek getting back to the past and experiencing great history moments that will last forever!

Our school was again part of this amazing team and our students collaborated actively, as always! They had great fun with our Pek interacting with great characters in History like Mr Ben, Mr Eiffel, Tutankhamun, his amazing adventures with Pirates, gladiators  and even falling in love not only with another flea but also with our famous dinosaur, Kendy. And who could imagine that our Pek and the dinosaurs could ever surf? Well, imagination and our students’ creativity has really no limits and everything can happen to our famous Pek!

Our first activity consisted in participating in a warm-up padlet to get to know each other. Then we introduced our school, celebrated the European Day of Languages and shared this celebration in twinspace to promote the language diversity and encourage our students to learn foreign languages.

We presented our Pek to the new classes and invited the students to work collaboratively in the Twinspace and discuss new ideas about where Pek could travel in time. Some of our students worked in groups to create the script 2 (Pek in Colosseum) and script 6 (Pek in Sintra) and they also worked in a collaborative way in mixed teams with students from the other schools of the project. One of our students, Inês Varela,  was the cartoonist of script 6.

When all the stories were created, the students  translated them in their mother tongue and recorded audio in English, working in transnational teams, and in Portuguese. They really had fun in recording all these stories and were very proud when our 4th comic book arrived at our school and they could see and hear their voices in the e-magazine, another  excellent result at the end of our project.

It was really another great experience with our European colleagues that we and our students won’t forget.

    Thank you Pekkies!
