The primary school Planina pri Sevnici organised various activities and workshops and included them into a cultural day called Languages connect us and unite us.

The programme started with the presentation of a parent who speaks several foreign languages and worked on a cruise ship for many years. She talked about the importance of learning foreign languages and illustrated some similarities and differences between individual languages. After that, the students had the opportunity to participate in several different activities. Students:

    - translated recipes of typical English, German and Slovenian desserts and prepared them at school,

    - sang in several languages,

    - participated in a language quiz and made some language challenges,

    - researched the old German names of villages and hamlets around Planina,

    - investigated the origin and frequency of surnames and names,

    - learned the basics of some European dances,

    - explored individual words in several languages and visualized them,

    - helped to prepare the exhibition with all products.
