Team 1' s Action for Change:

Video report on their action: a awareness session to prevent burglaries and thefts for the community

On 22nd May, my group made an awareness campaign about  robbery and lack of safety. But first, we prepared it, and invited everyone and we put invitations on every cafes. For that, our parents helped us.

On the day of the action the assistants of the school helped us to make the place where the conference would take place.

In the conference, “Escola Segura" said how to prevent robbery, and most importantly they said that the robbers would take advantage with the new 100 and 200 notes, that already happened.

When the conference ended we had a socialising time. There, we asked their reaction when they got the invitation and they were surprised and amazed because it was the first time that students organized an action of sensibilisation.

Video report by 4th Junior High School of Polichni, Greece

Encouraging self-employment / entrepreneurship. The sense of initiative and entrepreneurship broadens views and horizons for job opportunities and inspires us to think possibly, not only in terms of “finding” a job but also “creating” one for ourselves; skills for entrepreneurship – we might have great ideas but to be able to put those into practice, we need a lot of skills and encouragement!; positive thinking; confidence and courage to deal with fears; to have the experience of taking responsibility and keeping it and/or assuming leadership in certain tasks

Students video report on their action of awarness against Domestic and Dating violence and violence against children

We are Beatriz, Carolina, Gabriela, Rita and we have chosen this issue “Domestic/dating violence” for this project. As we have learned the number or victims of domestic violence has increased this year. We decided to make na awerness campaing to sensithez the population towards this problema.

We created bookmarks, which contained a poem “ Estigma” by Andrea Motta that is dedicated to all women victims of violence. We added a purple ribbon that symbolizing the prevention of further abuse of women.

On the 16 and 17 May we went to the street of Lamas to distribute bookmarks at school, at the pharmacy, at the various cafés, at the nursing home, at the dentist, at the church and the mailboxes.

We chose day 16 May to distribute because it is the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

The reaction of people when receiving the bookmarks was a good reaction, as they told us that we had a good idea when doing this because nowadays this situation happens more and more.

With this action we intend to alert people so that if they see some case of these denounce of way because later it can be too late and so that they always say no to the violence.

This project of Organic Farming is in straight relationship with the Eco-schools project in my school in Braga.

    Gualtar Basic School, Braga, Portugal

Planting potatoes for the Eco-schools project. It is quite a good experience to do organic farming in my school. Although I don't have animal manure, I use the existing organic fertilizer like old leaves and green nutrients. I cut the potatoes in two halves, leaving at least one bud on each side. Students join me espontaneously, wishing to know what I am doing. They make the video for me and want to participate in the work. (Braga, Portugal)

Team 11 on water crisis SDG 14

According to a 2018 report by government-run think tank NITI Aayog, about 100 million people across India are on the front lines of a nationwide water crisis. A total of 21 major cities are poised to run out of groundwater next year, leading to the world's most acute water crisis. We, the youth of India, have to come together to shape the future of the world and make it a better place to live in. There are a number of different ways to save water that are quick and simple, and we should apply them to our daily lives.Water is the elixir of life, if not conserved, it may turn from a necessity to a luxury that only few can afford. In order to reverberate this sentiment Our school observed JAL SHAKTI ABHIYAAN-2019 from 23 July 2019 to 26 July 2019 with aplomb.
Several activities were planned for different classes to spread awareness among all the students of the school . Students of Class 5 did a Plantation Drive in the school premises. Class 6 participated in a Painting Competition on the topic ' Water Conservation' .Class 7 took out a rally on Water Conservation along with school teachers in the neighborhood areas. Students also interacted with the people in the vicinity and talked to them about discouraging the use of booster pumps and consider undertaking rain water harvesting. Students of Class 8 staged a Nukkad Natak which elaborated on the problem of Water Scarcity. The street play was well scripted and wonderfully performed on stage. Students of Class 9 participated in a Poetry Writing Competition.Students of Class 11 participated in Essay and Slogan Writing Competition. All the winners were felicitated in an Assembly organized in the school to sensitize one and all regarding this alarming situation. Certificates were given to all the winners by our Vice Principal Ms. Sabina Shergill who also addressed the students and asked them to be an active part of this water conservation drive. The endeavour taken up by the Eco Club came to an end but we believe that spreading awareness about this cause did enlighten many lives .
