History and significance of the School of Economy and Tourism Daruvar School of Economy and Tourism Daruvar is one of the oldest high school institutions in the town of Daruvar with continuous work since 1928 when the Dual-grade Commercial School was founded.
Prior to 1928, salesmen were trained in the Apprenticeship school since 1887, and since 1934 they have been educated for the profession of hotelier.
After the Second World War, the Economic School "Moša Pijade" was founded with vocations an economist and a salesperson. Since 1970 other departments (waiter, chef) were also opened.
In November 1976, all three secondary schools joined the Daruvar High School Center, within which there were an economist, a salesman, a chef and a waiter.
After the Homeland War in 1993 The Daruvar High School Center disappears and three high schools are re-established: Gymnasium Daruvar, Daruvar Technical School and Daruvar Secondary School. Since 1997, the school began with the education of hotel and tourist technicians.
The Daruvar Economic and Tourism School today has over 400 students who are studying for occupations:
- economist (four year schooling)
- hotel-tourist technician (four-year schooling)
- agroturist technician (four year schooling)
- salesman (three year schooling)
- chef (three year schooling)
- waiter (three year schooling)
The school is equipped with all the necessary cabinets (3 classrooms with computer equipment, kitchen cabinet, catering cabinet), and in most classrooms there is a computer and projector to allow modern teaching.
An upgrading of the building in which the school is located is planned, so that a new cabinet room will be available, the catering cabinet would expand and the school would have 5 new classrooms available.

E.S.C.O.T. - regarding the promotion of thermal spas in Europe
Since 2003 we are members of the International Organization of Catering and Tourism Schools AEHT and we regularly go to competitions
We regularly participate in national competitions and we have very good results especially at the "Young Entrepreneur" competitions, which we were hosting in 2009, bookkeeping competition with balancing, competitions of salespeople, we are very successful at the "Gastro" competition with regard to catering and tourist professions , where in 2009 they won silver, in 2010 gold medal in the competition of cooking, and in 2012 the gold medal at the international competition AEHT 2012.
From school year 2012/13 our school is involved in the experimental implementation of Civic Education and Education.
We also participate in the State Exercise Companies' Fair, where we present some of the entrepreneurs from our town ("Biogal", Badel Winery).
Since January 1, 2011, we have changed the name to Daruvar Economic and Tourism School.
The Daruvara area, and the wider region, is related to tourism and entrepreneurship, so the professions we are looking for are required and needed in this area, and the name of the school itself now points to our commitment to education.
