Educational Scratch game

  •

The Scratch Game is a questions and answers game about architectural diversity of six European monuments (from Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania). The questions are related to the name of the monument, architectural style, date of construction and the type of rocks used for their construction. The main goal was to learn how to program a simple questions and answers game with Scratch, which could be used in every lower secondary grade and in every subject. In the process of collaboratively creating such a game, students developed fundamental aspects of computational thinking skills.Teachers can use this game in classes to teach/learn about cultural heritage in a funny way and be inspired to engage pupils in the creation of new games on different curricular contents. The use of this strategy prepares students for the technological environment they will have to face when they leave school.
