Activity 5 Preparation Stage by PL MysteryTwinners
  • ACTIVITY 5 SCHEDULE

    Deadline Activity Description
    26.04.2019 Creating international groups

Each partner school creates a team of 5 students responsible for 'creating' an international restaurant based in their city. Each team appoints the key people - the leader (restaurant manager), the communication person, the ICT specialist and two 'cooks'.

Each member has an important role to play: the leader coordinates the team work and sticks to the deadlines, the communication guy contacts the consultants (the cooks) in the 5 partner countries, the ICT expert is responsible for choosing an appropriate digital tool to create the restaurant menu, the cooks prepare the menu (and optionally photos, recipes), etc.

Each school introduces its team in a subpage of '5th Activity'. The other schools appoint and add their consultant(s)/cook(s) as the other members of the team (1-2 students).

This way each school will have 15 students engaged in the whole activity (5 in the main restaurant based in their native city + 2 students in the other 5 restaurants managed by the other partner countries).

    13.05.2019 Communication/planning stage

The teams discuss the details of their restaurant, using the ideas the Polish students have already listed and considered (The report is placed in the Materials section, it is advisable for the teachers to introduce it to their teams before the communication stage).

Each team will have their own subpage ang Discussion section where the students will then start exchanging suggestions, opinions, choosing and deciding on the key features of their restaurant - the profile (type of dishes served), name, design, and the menu of course, which should include 1-2 dishes from each country plus some optional extras (I hope our report will be helpful since we have prepared plenty of ideas to choose from, eg. pictures of the dishes and the restaurant itself, price list, descriptions/recipes, etc.).

At this stage it is the leader, the communication guy and the cooks that have the key roles.

    20.05.2019

    - deadline for the draft versions

    Creation stage

The ICT expert starts their work and creates a digital draft of the menu, where the 'cooks' and the other members of the team add the details they are responsible for.

The recommended ICT tool is Storyjumper, where it is possible to create the menu as a digital book, NB possible to print out and display in the language classroom:) The ICT expert will be responsible for creating an account on Storyjumper and designing the menu as an e-book.

27.05.2019 Publishing and sharing stage The teams publish/upload their Menus (e.g. Storyjumper books) into Twinspace
