About:
6 European schools join the MysteryTwinning project in order to motivate students study foreign languages, learn from each other, arise their curiosity towards other countries and foster their feeling of European citizenship. The activities are based on the use of the “Mystery Skype” methodology, quizzes, research, exchange of information about the partner countries and emphasize the educational value of cultural heritage.
Aims:
- To use technologies for educational purposes
- To exchange information about local interesting insights
- To learn how to get information from the project partners
- To share information/videos/images about the own school/city
- To exchange information about school regulations
- To cooperate in international groups
- To work collaboratively online
- To be aware of own role in the project development
Work process:
- Students learn about the geographical features of their partners’ city: Mystery Skype.
- Students create quizzes about their own towns/areas/countries/people in their country: Socrative, Learningapps.Students play the other country’s games.
- Students play online games with the questions from all the countries: Kahoot.
- Students create their own profiles - introduce themselves: Avatarmaker, etc.
- “If you were us?” - students create short video about a problem in another partner country: YouTube.
- International Restaurants menus – students create an eBook with traditional recipes from all the partner countries.
Expected results:
- Students will be motivated to further develop their oral and writing skills in English.
- Students will be encouraged to use new software technologies in order to prepare and present their work.
- Students and teachers will develop communication skills with pupils of the same age, but from different countries, culture and habits.
- Students will learn how to cooperate and collaborate in international groups.
As collaborative final products we will have videos of the Skype contests, ready games about the partner countries, a photo/video gallery and eBooks with online international menus.
