How do you say?

One of our project result is Dictionary - digital and printed. We studied, explored, researched, worked together with our project partners, talked to our Grandparents to find out traditional words of our county. Also, we drew and painted. Then we learned how to work in some digital tools and choosed BookCreator. 

And finally we have our results - digital and printed Dictionary!

Our dictionary is almost ready. Joint online work.

During our 6th grade English class today we talked about how would we translate certain expressions from the local Turopolje dialect into English. The students were full of suggestions and they did a great job. Afterwards, the students were asked to come up with sentences in Croatian, which included the local expressions, and try to say and write them in English. These activities provided a great way to make the students more aware of their linguistic heritage and connect their knowledge of the local dialect with their knowledge of the English language.

We explored words on our dialect, English and Italian language. We learned about life in the country and some typical animals and vegetables.

Making a digital dictionary is not an easy task! Students from 5.a grade OŠ Nikole Hribara on Computer Science lessons learned about digital tools that we can use to make digital dictionary. It's not easy, but it's fun!
